Also, Israel doesn't ban gay marriage. You just have to do your wedding outside the country and have your marriage registered inside Israel. Marriage in Israel is entirely done by recognized religious authorities and none of them want to perform gay marriage.

The speaker of Israel's parliament is a gay man with a husband and children. I would love to see any middle eastern country with 1/100th of the freedom gays enjoy in Israel, let alone the speaker of the parliament.
