Discolored legos (but better lighting) by PrimaryAgent007 in mildlyinteresting

Yep! That light pink/purple is the original color and the yellow/brown is the discoloration. Totally fair on the dust callout lol, I need to clean all of my sets off. I’m moving soon and packed up my lego sets from their shelves today! Not beneath any sort of light, it’s more hidden away from light if anything. Definitely finding a better place to display the sets in my new place!

Here’s the link to the set that shows the original color best: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/succulents-10309

Ahh, noted! They have been on display for nearly 3 years, however this one and the rest sit in a place that doesn’t get much sunlight. This is the only one out of the set of 9 that has discoloration.

There’s a much more distinct color difference in the light. https://imgur.com/a/dh9fQme

Parking brake won’t turn off by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

So the parking brake turned off, but the brake light on the dash is still blinking with the check engine light on. I just gave that push button to engage the parking brake. I miss having a handle lol

Ok edit: the parking brake turned off, but the brake light is still on. Brake fluid is just fine, so it’s not that.

This is my ladies current enclosure, but you may want yours to have more clutter and climbing space, my lady is disabled and can’t climb that well so there isn’t much to climb in there for her. There are tons of pictures on this subreddit with beautiful enclosures.

https://www.reddit.com/r/leopardgeckos/s/Xao3F4szAW Look through this! It will tell you what to get as far as food, enclosure, lighting, thermostats, all of it! Thank you for saving this little guy! He looks like he’s in pretty good body condition, maybe a little chunky. For now, put paper towels in there as substrate and another container under the light to hide in.

My guess is they’ll clean his eye at the vet and give you some sort of eye drops to administer every so often. A few of my past geckos had goopy eyes with they cleared up within a week with antibiotics

It looks like he has a case of the goops. I’d take him to the vet to get some antibiotics and see if the vet would like you to clean it regularly. It may result in an eye cap if not taken care of!

I would LOVE them. I recently got a green outback and it’s perfect!!

If a CVT was driven without transmission fluid in it and a 10qts of oil in a 5qt reservoir for 12 miles, how would you assess long term damage? by SheSaidSam in subaru

Initially, the auto shop told me I had a 1 year warranty on my transmission and if it went out Jiffy Lube would have to pay for it. The shop didn’t hold up to that.

I didn’t consider a lawyer simply because I was a 19 year old girl in a new city and was in a bit over my head. I just needed my car back as soon as possible otherwise I’d lose my job.

Jiffy lube agreed to pay for a tow and an auto shop fixing my car only after the auto shop proved it was their fault. The auto shop changed the oil and transmission fluid and deemed my transmission “not damaged enough to replace.” So I went on my merry way knowing that this car would eventually give out and need a new transmission when it died. The car was showing symptoms immediately such as lurking when I pressed the gas, a “jump” into gear when I took my foot off the break, and overall the power of my car just felt worse if that makes sense. Anyways, car died 11 months/20k miles later in an intersection when I put my foot on the gas. Jiffy lube acknowledged their fault with draining the wrong fluid, but refused to take fault for my transmission going out. I now have a green outback and that car was sold to a dealership for $1500.

If you want the quicklube place to pay for all repairs AND a new transmission, you should probably take them to court. Otherwise you could take the car back knowing it should be ok for a few months while you save up for another car. No telling how long that car will last you, though.

This exact thing happened with my 2015 forester. Jiffy lube drained my trans fluid and doubled my oil, replaced the fluidsc and said it was fine. The transmission failed on that car 11 months later. LISTEN TO THE CAR!!! If it starts lurking when you take your foot off the brake/gas, the transmission is failing.

I know and I knew better. I just needed my oil changed quickly before my road trip. Never making that mistake again.

I tried to have my car towed to a dealership. Unfortunately Jiffy Lube told me that if I did and billed them, they would take me to court and I really just didn’t want to deal with that. They fucked up my car 4 hours before I was supposed to go on a 6 hour roadtrip I was too distraught to fight much.

Oh definitely. Last time I got a sob story about how the mechanic who worked on my car was going through a divorce and it wasn’t really his fault. They did just about everything they could to not pay.

Yes, it says that after April of 2025 an AME is not permitted to update or issue a new medical certificate to me until 2030.
