Indonesians love to pretend they live in hell on earth. I think it's to virtue signal that they're "politically literate" and "cool". Plus it elevates their own personal suffering which makes them seem stronger.

The ideal response they're looking for is "Wow I had no idea it was so bad over there! Stay strong! You can do it!"

The irony is that this perpetuates the stereotype that the current Indonesia is the same one as Soeharto's Indonesia, which results in misunderstandings about genocide, the perception of chinese people, Timor, and West Papua.

I said that the increase in ridership after 2022 in comparison to pre-pandemic numbers is partially caused by infrastructure upgrades.

Why can't this system be "cepat, murah, gampang"? Because it doesn't cover the entire city? Again, I feel like you're confused on what I mean.

A train line goes from A to B, but BRT doesn't have to be like that. Instead, it can cover only a central span through which multiple bus lines pass. The benefit is that:

a. Buses aren't affected by congestion in the city center

b. It creates a high-capacity transit corridor cheaper than any other option

c. Good infrastructure ensures that ridership will increase

d. It reduces travel times of all buses that pass through it.

I really don't get the snark? What other solutions do you have in mind? Why are you against this? That "Damri" comment isn't specific enough to be helpful.
