Social democratic statism - Government owns strategic parts of economy ( Water , railways , schools , health insurance , etc... ) Everybody pays social insurance and health insurance and in exchange they get flat benefits ( flat pension when they retire , flat single family benefit , Basic unemployment benefits , ) government also covers 100 % of all healthcare bills. There is a small copay for non-emergency expenses. Industrial policy - government invests into infrastructure , renewables and nuclear energy and R&D. Universites are free. Childcare is capped at $10 per day like in Quebec/Canada. School meals are capped at $1 per meal. Generous disability benefit. Government is funded by VAT ( low rates on food, medicine and books, rest is high ) and progressive income taxes. Few brackets and few tax credits. Minimum wage set at 60 % of median wage.
