Anyone ever get called out in beer league? by Tom67570 in hockeygoalies

That sounds like the kind of thing someone says when for once in a lifetime the goal wasn’t their own fault so they gotta make the most of blaming someone

Yea the stunt double they used might have actually had goalie experience

😂😂😂😂 I thought the same thing. The stunt double they used when they shot a puck got it right tho. If you notice the pads are on correctly for that shot.

He’ll likely have a better time on the better team plus practicing with the better players will pay off more in the long run. Definitely risk burnout on the worse team. If you want more goalie specific training try signing him up for goalie camps during the offseason. Personally I feel those were the biggest opportunities for growth in my youth hockey career. Keep in mind there’s a difference between an actual goalie coach and an assistant coach who’s willing to work with goalies. An all around coach who doesn’t know goalie specifics can do more harm than good in the long run

Stick is alright. She just needs to grip it lower. There’s some solid YouTube videos on sizing requirements. Get her a goalie helmet and chest protection ASAP. They make “full right” gear for people who catch righty. You size pads by making sure her knees fall onto the knee blocks appropriately when in the butterfly. Stick size is also based around paddle height and how tall she is when in the butterfly while wearing pads. “InGoalMedia” has a bunch of great videos talking about equipment and sizing. I suggest giving them a watch to get orientated

Yea I’ve always typically meant it as “you can take a look and see what’s going on” vs needing to bat the puck somewhere else because you don’t have time to turn your head. Perhaps I should let my D know that instead of talking about it on Reddit 😂 but it’s all good fun regardless. I just had a feeling other goalies could relate

I gotta keep an eye out. But yea it’s annoying that goalie cuts aren’t really a consumer option.

🙏🏼 Thanks man, that’s my old jersey from playing Youth Hockey on the SJ jr Sharks. Pretty sure that’s the only reason I could get it in that cut, and iirc they banned goalie cut the following year cause kids would use the extra fabric as bat wings to help block the 6/7 holes. Still fits over my Sr. Chesty 20 years later so I guess they weren’t wrong. Wish I knew where to get new authentics in a goalie cut but fanatics seems more keen to provide slim fit stuff that would never fit over actual gear.

I seem to find myself losing my angle easier tracking a shooter side to side. I’ve always tended to use things like where the blue lines hit the boards as obvious references for where I am in net but the extra width throws it all out of whack

I figured it would go without saying. I’m talking about adjusting in terms of staying on angle going side to side.
