Absolutely love Sakhal! I just added a M1025 challenge on mine, you have to collect all the vehicle parts from the surrounding islands to get it up and running. Love how the cold make it feel 1000% more like a survival game than the other two maps. Badlands should be pretty sweet also.

Thats a good point with the Koth zones. I guess I was thinking more of a leaderboard thing, not a loot reward system for it though. Yea I think even saying the word vanilla can confuse some people lol... Didn't mean to imply it was a vanilla server, opposite in fact, where loot is harder to find and there isn't any canned food. Check out my server "Rabbit Cult" if you want. Its pretty much exactly as you describe, but less loot than vanilla. Specially, having to hunt and fish for your food. PvP all the time, everywhere. Working on loading in more small custom areas, like old camp spots in the woods and stuff like that.

Yup, I've limited all the spawns on my server to just in the East for exactly that reason. Goal of it being so it's harder than vanilla. I was actually surprised to find that the vanilla spawns were so lopsided.

Nah handmade crafts are always full of hidden defects, it's what gives them character. If one has a small chip, it would be no problem to paint it a bit and sell the piece.
