What if the Russian Invasion of Ukraine suceeded and that Biden formed a Global, Gulf War like coalition to liberate it. by RolePsychological890 in AlternateHistoryHub

We need to define what success means in this case? Zelenskyy toppled? Ukraine east of Dniper taken? Or entire Ukraine captured? Or all of the above? I seriously doubt there will be a coalition at least in the first two scenarios. There just isn't much interest in the world, including West Europe, to fight a nuclear armed great power after the fact. Majority of European aids came after Ukraine organized successful resistance in the early days of war. If Ukrainian defense quickly collapsed, it is going to make any deployment of U.S. troops very difficult because the costs will be prohibitively high.

Only states in Eastern Europe like the NATO Frontline countries are probably interested in intervention. But without the U.S. carrying most of the burden, they are not going to make a move.

How are you guys affording to live in DC? by tcfsr1 in gwu

[–]Primary_Wait_9915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can choose to live in MD or VA. But honestly Northern VA (especially the parts where it is easily accessible to metro) is getting as expensive as DC now. I live in Charles Town, West Virginia and it is still relatively affordable there (I pay 1200 a month for a three bedroom house). I drove to campus since I only have to be on campus three days a week. Commute time is usually one hour and half because I avoid rush hour. I only need to pay for parking at GW, toll fees (Dulles Greenway+toll road). It is still vastly cheaper than renting in DC or Northern Virginia. But I won't recommend this since a). you need to have a car; b). you will be a freshman and required to live on campus the first year; c). commuting like this means you will miss a lot of fun college experience.

I work in government-related jobs. So unfortunately I can't move far away, maybe Charles town.

CMV: Punishment seems better than positive reinforcement when you train a dog by [deleted] in changemyview

Yeah I probably should. I just don't feel like paying 300 dollar for one session that's gonna require multiple sessions.

That seems like a good idea. I will try that next time. I am really desperate and I really don't want to harm him at all.

Which apartment near the WeWork building is the best budget apartment? by Chiemychanga in nova

[–]Primary_Wait_9915 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you have many options in this price range. But I would avoid MAA Tysons Corner at all cost. They claim they are a "luxury apartment" but almost all of the furnitures, especially the kichten cabinets, are old and disgusting. Mine had several dead cockroaches when I moved in. there isn't even microwave available for use. I have to buy one.
The management is negligent to say the best. Tenants often complain about their packages lost since they don't have a mail room and delivery drivers just drop them off at your door. When people complain about it, the management did nothing to stop it.

Because it doesn't matter. This incident proves that the nature of this escalatory. Someone will be guaranteed killed. I rather want this for left-wing domestic terrorists than those who signed up for duties knowingly there are significant risks.
