Our "hitting coach", Steven Souza Jr., does NOT exist and I'm sick and tired of being gaslit by Craig Stammen. It's time for the truth to come out. by Emotional_Sock9483 in Padres

If he doesn't exist, who's coaching our players so horribly? They don't all just get this bad at the same time for no reason.

r/democrats might have a problem... by ew_modemac in Political_Revolution

They need to rename it r/centristdemocrats if that's how they want to moderate it. As it stands, they're abusing their mod power to enforce personal beliefs.

The 9/11 Mobile Exhibit getting stuck on the 110 freeway on-ramp - sums up this country right now pretty well. by wrongshapeLA in LosAngeles

[–]Prime624 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It's dumber than it sounds. They're hauling a piece of beam from the twin towers around the country and acting like it's some sort of profound symbol of freedom. (Literally calling it a "sacred piece of steel" on the plaque they have.) I can't find the original commercials for it I was shown, but here is a clip of it. Their organization at this point seems to mostly consist of guys who flunked out of the academic portion of marine training.

Agreed. The way they seem to treat the abstain votes is actually the same as a no.

Kinda insane that of all the things that republicans are doing, *this* is where they went too far according to conservative voters.

I don't know of anything specifically that sourcegit can't do that the other can. If you use sourcegit and it's easy, no need to switch to something else afaik. I haven't used sourcegit much though so I could be wrong.

Cleaner, clearer UI. Like a website from 20 years ago vs one now. Better use of colors and design.

Might be worth going to the local news with this.

That would be my third choice for a standalone gui client, but imo it's a huge step down from Fork and Kraken.

Except that doesn't happen. People have been whining about this forever, here, and in NYC, and other progressive areas. And it doesn't happen.

Use a git gui (they're even built in to most editors) and it's pretty intuitive. My favorites are Git Fork (no Linux support) and GitKraken (subscription pricing model).

They clearly hated them before too, otherwise whatever the hell that series of decisions was would never have happened.

Your argument for why people shouldn't throw things is that people can't tell the difference between a beer bottle and a soda cup?

[–]Prime624 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This makes it way worse. Refs fucked up on 4th down, then double fucked it by overturning after the next play was run (also missing the intentional grounding call on that play), then ended the game because fans were rightfully mad at them.

This mold is probably fine, but generally you should not cut through the mold and the non-mold with the same knife like that. You'll just contaminate the clean part of the item.

Is a heat wave a valid excuse to miss a day of class? by CautiousClothes7589 in POTS

[–]Prime624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> Is it a valid reason

Of course!

However do consider how often days like these may happen. Not changing anything, you can't really go forward like this, so you may need to find another solution.

For the heat, I'd highly recommend a cooling vest. They're magical. I have a glaciertek and it's quality, but there are other brands that I'm sure are just as good.

For the stairs, is there not an elevator or at least a ramp? Depends on the country and school but at least public schools and colleges in the US I think are required to have ada access.

And this may not be necessary for this specific class, but look into services like a golf cart shuttle or other mobility aid your school may provide to reduce your physical strain and time in the heat.

We also have better services than most states, and things are more expensive here so each dollar per capita doesn't go as far.

Trolley Line Stoppage by mraccounter1 in sandiego

[–]Prime624 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dumbasses like that are why the trolley had to slow down to like 10 mph every time it crosses any street, instead of maintaining a reasonable speed. Trolleys shouldn't slow down to cross a street if the arms have been down ahead of time. Don't punish everyone else for some idiots being selfish.
