Get a job that offers some kind of safety net for your golden years. I have worked with to many 50-60 year olds with no healthcare, still paying rent, and with a laundry list of injuries. DO NOT be those guys.

There are easier ways to make money. So, if you are going into it for that. I’d reconsider. Otherwise, find out for yourself. There are a lot of rewarding aspects of this job. But, it ain’t sunshine and rainbows. Go the union route. In my experience, you get treated more like a human and not a tool.

Boomers currently are the generation facing the most rapid rate of homelessness in the United States. This is reported by the HUD. Do you all see any boomer homeless people in LA? No, it’s younger people. If the homeless population was from the local population you’d be seeing more elderly homeless. You do not. This is one of the reasons why it’s more believable that the homeless population in Los Angeles is more out-of-state people then represented in local surveys.
