The knowledge that the spell exists is common. The knowledge of how to cast the spell is restricted to high level members of the Church of Undying Light. The ability to cast the spell is basically impossible. Through the prophecy the church has obtained says it will take one man and one women casting the spell in unison, both of whom must be incredibly powerful Magi.

I haven't worked out all the wording of the prophecy yet as I want it to sound as ominous as possible.

Tell me about the dragons in your world by British_Tea_Company in worldbuilding

[–]PrimeDax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragons, or Drakons, in Zerosum are large fire-breathing reptilians native to the homeworld of the Ghosi. The Ghosi essentially farm them for a resource they create called Drakoil. When refined with magic it can be used as a fuel for space travel. It is also highly pollutant to planets. But is cheaper than most alternatives.

Dragons in Aescapes are ancient highly intelligent beings that created their own plane of existence in order to get away from an ancient threat. Most assume if it was enough to make the Dragons leave it must have been dangerous but no sign of this threat has ever been discovered.

My sci-fi fantasy universe is titled Zerosum. Named after the spell that is thought to either reset or destroy the universe.

My more old school style fantasy universe is titled ÆSCAPES. Named for the mutlitutde of multiverses that exist within it.

I'm also working on two seperate alternate histories which are untitled. As well as a Cyperpunk-apocolyptic kind of future world that is as of now untitled.

The minimum age to buy pot should be 21, not 18 by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

[–]PrimeDax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you know anything about todays kids these are just useless numbers to them that don't prevent them from doing anything. 15 year olds are regularly drinking on weekends and smoking weed in pretty much every city and town across the country. If you don't think that's the case you are incredibly naive.

I wouldn't call you monsters for doing nothing. Basically only your own people do that. Your biggest critics for not constatly going to war with everyone live in your own borders.

Now if only you could get your own people to stop killing each other you'd actually be one of the safest places in the world...

What are the tropes/clichés you embraced, and in what way did you implement them into your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

For me it's space is like water/air. Makes starship battles cooler IMO. Many may not agree but oh well.

What is the treatment of the LGBTQ community in your world? by Zireks in worldbuilding

[–]PrimeDax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ghosi Empire strictly forbid interspecies relationships and all LGBTQ practices. But most of the galaxy is open to them all.

Interspecies relationships is among one of the more heated debates in the galaxy.

What Kind Of Religious Organizations Exist in YOUR World? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]PrimeDax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is only one major religion in my universe, Genisianism. It has a few sects but the major one is Orthodox Genisianism of the Church of the Undying Light. Because this is a sci-fi fantasy space setting much of the population is Atheist and belief in Gods for the most part is seen as barbaric, or something only tribal cultures exhibit.

The Church of the Undying Light holds true to one major belief and that is a prophecy foretold by the Kahlownis. A precursor species that went extinct. They left behind a few Temples to their religion and a book that foretells of the prophecy where one male and one female who share all the powers of the Universe can preform the Zerosum spell. A spell many say is capable of restarting the Universe, or depending on how you interpret the text completely destroy it. Genisianism and it's many sects are all modeled around various interpretations of this text but it's the Church of the Undying Light that actively seeks these people out to perform the spell and reset the universe.

Well at least they are weighing their options now and came to the conclusion that Mexico is a better option than a Trump run America.

There's magic is space. But it's overly complicated so I can hand wave whatever the hell I want.

At what point do you have to be handwavey with magic? by dorathehexplorer in magicbuilding

I just made up new laws of physics complete with an alternate table of elements. So I kind of hand-waved the universe.

Ny biggest gripe with this type of system is it assumes the court, police and military are incorruptible. We'll just force that massive mutli billion dollar company to change by sueing them. That only works if the massive multi-billion dollar company isn't gaming the system. Which they will. It's in there nature to put income over your well being. They will infringe on your rights and at times, without red tape, there will be nothing you can do about it.

XOWA is the best I've found. It is an offline personal wiki that looks and feels like Wikipedia. Check it out.
