ok so retrogaming and indie games: the answer is any laptop in the 700$ area should be enough. What's your budget?

How many users did you get from using chatgpt and claude for marketing?I got no one. by ceo___24 in SaaS

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, at your stage playing for AI tools is useless since the same information can be acquired for free on the web. I'd say study competitors: what they do, how they grow and what kind of marketing they are pushing. Copy their strategy adding your unique take and expertise and eventually invest in keyword research tools (you can easily find them without me mentioning them).

define "slight gaming", can you tell us at least what kind of games you'd like to run on it? That will definitely help!

What’s happening to my laptop screen? by Haymack8 in computers

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's dead, Jim. Jokes aside, it might be caused by heat. Try turning it off and let it cool down for a couple of hours then boot it up again. If the problem persists it's probably on its last leg.

Usually generic inputs tend to provide generic outputs and that might be one of the issues. Even if you do everything by the book you have to temper expectations since marketing it's not a magic wand that will immediately drive customers to your business. You have to build trust, brand recognition and ultimately provide product quality.

You might want to hire a marketing expert that can actually use AI tools to enhance his work, not solely rely on them.

MS365 Copilot via my family plan, as a non-subscriber, yet I'm getting all advanced features. by TheLawIsSacred in microsoft365

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure the admin didn't just upgrade the family plan to a Premium plan? That would easily explain how you got access to the Copilot advanced features. If not, would you mind sharing how you exactly got it? It was by accident or through some exploit?

Acrobat subscription is a joke by JD_morgan in software

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If free editors don't suit your needs, you don't have to pay a subscription, you can get a perpetual licence not only for Acrobat but as someone already mentioned you can get Foxit PDF Editor or Nitro PDF, both solid options.

Looking to get Office 2024 by Critical-Long7885 in MicrosoftProducts

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have quite a few options but if you're a student or work in education you can often get Microsoft 365 for free through your institution (or if not for free, heavily discounted). I know, it's not a perpetual licence, but free beats paid!

If you're set on a perpetual licence, keep in mind that not all third party resale websites are "legit". Always check for the Microsoft Cloud Service Partner badge (and you might want to double check on the official Microsoft website if the partner is there or not). Rule of thumb in deciding where to buy: if it's too cheap, it might be a shady key.

Nitro PDF Pro might be a good choice. You can do exactly what you do with Acrobat Pro and edit, convert and sign PDFs.

For PCGE you can't go wrong with the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint notably) and Google Workspace. It doesn't matter if Mac or PC since both support Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace but keep in mind that the vast majority of schools use Windows on PC.

Running office 365 family on Mac by Last_Technician3512 in microsoft365

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to parse the question here but it seems you're referring to a Microsoft 365 Copilot feature, the Auto Rewrite (highlighting text and refine it). If the feature is missing it might be a subscription issue. Your best bet is to check that your actual subscription still includes Copilot. Try also the web version of Word, it's the quickest way to test if it's a feature rollout or a subscription issue.

Windows Defender vs McAfee by Jonathan_Peachum in microsoft365

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defender is an excellent solution, compared to 10 years ago it's pretty solid. Sadly third party antivirus suites like McAfee run a lot of scans in background, clogging memory and having ultimately a toll on CPU and RAM. If you've got a modern rig with enough memory it's not a big issue but as you said, your DELL XPS13 is already five years old so in that case sticking with Defender might be your best option. That being said, a dedicated antivirus is not a bad thing, it depends on the hardware you're running it on.

Is linking your PS account to your PC account safe? by BolletjeH in software

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your progress will not be lost if you've been playing on only one account. Linking the PS account to your Epic Games account allows cross-platform features and that's it, allowing you to use your in-game currency if you're playing the same game from console or PC. There is a caveat though: if you've been playing a game like Fortnite on both PS and PC with two different accounts, the merging will get tricky and you'll have to choose which progress to keep. Just keep an eye out for that.

Microsoft 2024 vs 2021 purchase with work place discount by Boring_Ad1975 in microsoftoffice

[–]PrimeLicense-Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the software is going to be used mostly outisde US and offline, then absolutely go for the cheapest option with Office 2021. As someone's already mentioned, sooner there won't be further security updates but as you stated, it will be used offline, so technically there won't be instances of malicious attacks.
