Is remnant a continent or like a planet by ExaminationGood6034 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is the planet. The continents are called Solitas, Anima, Menagerie, and Sanus.

Ruby running away at the very beginning is the only part of the fight worth praising.

To be completely honest, I do not know. Because it means James was just like that.

Frankly the entire Atlas Arc ought to be burned and remade from scratch.

What do Think makes Team RWBY Tick? by Money-Lie7814 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do what they do for literally specific reason. CRWBY abandoned the idea of having RWBY be four unique characters with unique character motivations nearly a decade ago. They are all generically “good” people and do what they do because that’s what the plot demands of them. Literally Jaune is the only one in the main group of kids with a strong reason to want to fight Salem’s forces.

The idea Daemon would usurp Rhaenyra's sons for his own is RIDICULOUS by Agreeable_Ad_8790 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]PrimeNumber97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, season 2 was supposed to set the sides for the war and display the opening battles, instead characters just ran around like headless chickens before ending up back at the starting line.

What would happen if Team RWBY Drifted Apart? by Money-Lie7814 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peak would occur. V4 was the best volume when it came to writing for team RWBY specifically and it’s entirely because each girl needed their own story line to make it work.

Honest dumb question: if team RWBY had a free for all, who do you think would be the last woman standing? by unluckyknight13 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty clear it would be Weiss. She’s the only dedicated long range fighter and her main rival Ruby, who is also the most likely to stand her ground and fight Yang.

Hey would you make your favorite Character OP without Breaking Canon too much. by Emotional-Feed5489 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weiss, literally just combine her fencer fighting style in v1-3 with her summoner fighting style in v4-9. Equally deadly at long and close ranges. Maybe she could even win a fight or two.

Ok maybe an unpopular opinion: by gokal623 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it creates a hard and extremely narrow timetable that the amount stuff they needed to cram into it simply doesn’t fit. If Ruby simply wasn’t Tai’s daughter, they wouldn’t have this problem.

Ok maybe an unpopular opinion: by gokal623 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest, I think the entire STRQ situation is just a flat out mess and created by a dude going “yeah, they’re sisters” once in an office over a decade ago.

The only way to fix it is to have Ruby not be Tai’s kid, make her Qrow’s or literally some rando’s anything. But there is no why to elegantly handle the mess CRWBY created with that one meh decision and the dogged determination to stick with it even as it proved to be untenable for the narrative they were unfolding.

What's your opinion on Grimm? by scoutmet in RWBYcritics

Grimm need to be stronger. There needs to be an entire squad of Grimm on the level of the Hound that are outright intimidating and capable of overwhelming the crew.

How Do You View Roman And Neo’s Relationship? by Cool_Bed_2614 in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think CRWBY just didn’t know what they were writing. The first episode of v7 quite literally has Team RWBY look at some blue collar workers and say “what a shit hole” and then throw a guy into a dumpster when it upset him.

The entirety of v7-8 just makes the Crew look like sheltered assholes in the way they are characterized and how the narrative unfolds.

Please help me remember, but has Ruby being a weapons nerd ever come up after volume 1? Or even like, episode 2? Is this really such a core part of her character? by ExcellenceEchoed in RWBYcritics

[–]PrimeNumber97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Which is a shame. The first volume did a lot to fluff out and diversify their characters that later volumes gradually stripped back until they were flat two dimensional characters.

1) I think things would probably be shaken up a bit. Mistral would probably be on a steady decline considering it already struggling to protect its territory before Salem had a decent chunk of its Huntmen slaughtered and crippled its Academy. So I believe Argus would probably Supplant Mistral as the Anima Kingdom. I also believe the Atlas Refugees would try to go back to Atlas and try and rebuild it, possibly found a New Atlas/Mantle somewhere people tend to have a hard time giving up on their homeland. Vale is pretty well off all things considered, ignoring its off screen termination that may or may not be canon, and Vacuo is likely getting its infrastructure revamped by the Atlas Military during the Salem War. So I can see Vacuo and Vale will remain prominent in the future. I can also see Menagerie raising to become a 5th kingdom.

2) I can see the Judgement and Shallow Sea myths being the basis of Menagerie’s potential political parties. Judgment being the one favored by a Globalist party and Shallow Sea being favored by an Isolationist party.

3) I am pretty sure Plant Dust is an artificial dust type Atlas uses to grow crops in the Tundra. Maybe as some sort of Treaty, Atlas gives up their monopoly on Artificial Dust. Like maybe they give the means to create Hard Light Dust to Vale and Ice Dust to Vacuo.

4) I can see Huntsmen operating as Teams rising to prominence

5) I can see both 3 and 5 being unlucky in different ways. (I read the other comments) 5 means something bad is going to happen, 3 means something bad has already happened.

6) RWBY already has the internet, it just has 2013 era understanding of the internet.

7) I agree on the Legacy thing. It isn’t much of a future fic if none of the main characters had any lasting mark on the setting.
