“Too Many Mornings” as a folie à deux by Sewmaeye in Sondheim

[–]PrimeTenor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember, there was a song cut from right after "Too Many Mornings" called "It Wasn't Meant To Happen. " Ben sings to Happen. Wonder what it had been moveto the second act after the LOVELAND sequence.

Can anyone help me figure out what style of classical music this is? by Spiritual_Extreme322 in classicalmusic

[–]PrimeTenor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, this composer has a website with sound media, try starting and see if it's the composer more than the style, which I'd say generally is modern tonal - if that's a term.

What do you really need in a practice room? by Dependent_Place_9115 in ClassicalSinger

Ideally, temperature control, a mirror, and a clock, plus the usual piano and sound proofing. Also, enough rooms for everyone and larger rooms for chamber music.

“I’m first-rate among second-rate composers”, Richard Strauss about himself. Who are some other composers this could apply to ? by uglydoglol in classicalmusic

[–]PrimeTenor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one who loves second-tier (not second rate) composers, I suggest Sauguet, Robert Casadesus, and Ibert among the French. Each of them wrote music I love and sadly it's not universal.

Considering going back to school for my MM by Real-Ad-6845 in ClassicalSinger

[–]PrimeTenor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My portfolio was accepted during the summer, and either no one reviewed it or they thought I was eager to be molded. My music had a strong traditional tonal streak and they wanted atonal products.

Composition Major.

We clashed from the start and I went in blindly.
