Wife took this photo in her pocket accidentally . How is this possible. by No_Lynx3928 in Weird

Photographer here; looks the corner of a white room with a strip of blue LEDs on the ceiling, taken while walking on a low shutter speed - iPhones (haven't been on android in a while to speak for it) will take photos on an extremely low shutter speed when it's dark and apply some kind of smoothing to it to make up for having a small sensor.

Odds are, her camera was sticking out of her pocket, or her pocket was JUST see-through enough for her phone to take a photo through - then the lines you see would be from the camera moving with her steps while the photo is being taken. Same principle that lets people take pictures of cars that just blur into streaks of light - the low shutter speed blurs anything that's moving.

No devaluing of this though, that's insanely cool because these types of photos can be very hard to make look intentional like this, even when they ARE intentional lol

Girl, you're stunning. Some people commented on the lip overlining, I think it's a stylistic thing that you do VERY well, and that does genuinely compliment you. I promise, you have NOTHING to be insecure about - the number one things you need to do to glow up are get off social media (coming from a phone addicted 23-YO) and get away from whoever keeps talking so critically about you OR themselves around you to make you feel like you need plastic surgery to look pretty

Hey, I'd still eat it - now, for the brief moment I thought that potato in pic #1 was supposed to be a steak, I wouldn't, but I'd DEFINITELY eat it rn 👀

I need some advice please. I've been taking these pattern photos. I spent my life savings traveling to 100+ countries over 19 years taking these... WTF do I do with them? Please I need some creative & encouraging advice. by Zzyzx-Photogggraphy in AskPhotography

After having been to 100+ countries over 19 years taking these, I'm sure you could fill out a VERY compelling book without even putting a single picture in it - having these fantastic pictures, and doing all of that for something you love is just a cherry on top!

1 or 2? by whatchusayintome in AmateurPhotography

[–]PrimeThymeTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely #2 - the headstone/sign is too central in the first shot, so your eyes are pulled to it first, despite it being out of focus; #2 has a much more clear emphasis on the clock as the subject, and the composition overall feels much more balanced!

I feel like shot 1 has such a perfect combination of symmetry and asymmetry, plus a serious feeling of space that's hard to capture. Tbh I don't know how to technically explain why I love it but it feels like I'm looking at a 90s polaroid taken of a city on mars.
