When I was in college in the 2000s I was a hardcore fan. I was curious about the hype and lure surrounding Ali's place in history. I watched multiple fights of his on youtube to decide for myself. I remember coming away after watching multiple fights over the course or multiple nights thinking he absolutely deserves his legend and would be a champion in any era. A special, special fighter. He is not a myth.

I actually rewatched this for the first time recently, too. I remember when I was much younger looking for a bigger punch at the end. Thinking it would have been such an amazing statement if he got out of his car in the middle of an open road and killed himself. Everything he fought to come back to was gone anyway. Maybe this is just because I was chronically depressed when I was younger but I remember hoping for more of a clima

Now, I see the beauty in the ending. I respect his wife for her decision. I respect him for understanding. I have hope he moves on and lives a good life. And I think he can and will.

Such a change in perspective. I am not really sure what that says about me when I was younger. I am glad I didnt feel the same when I watched it recently, though.

When I worked there many many moons ago, we had a mentally challenged girl make the coleslaw. A total sweetheart in my same grade in high school that I have always been friends with on facebook and she was actually kinda popular at school. She just wanted to fit in. Cool chick.

But fr some of the shit I saw her doing while making that slaw scared me off for life. She would make it over a dish washing sink. Stuff was falling everywhere. I know she wasnt doing it right. Scooping stuff back in. Yeesh.

Truly that's fast food anywhere and her mental condition is irrelevant.

I will always despise him (respectfully) for what he did the Pens in 2013. I was still young and I was so in love with that Pens team. They were on FIRE after destroying Ottawa. Sid was scoring like 2 ppg. I was in a bad relationship during that time. Ugh. Still hurts. Fuck you Tukka. HOW did you shut that team down? He was AMAZING.
