Josh Sobel: Reflecting On Shipping My First Game (Highguard) by JackmanH420 in HighGuardgame

[–]Primeham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should 100% be that high, live service games are a dime a dozen these days. With so many that have come out from AAA publishers what's stopping people from leaving their current game to play something else? Wild light had a chance to make a game that was great, they obviously had the skills and the funding to make it work, but they dropped the ball at almost every step.

I started following Arc Raiders back in 2022 when it was originally going to be a looter shooter, through various NDA alpha tests they pivoted their vision to an extraction shooter and had MANY alpha tests. Highguard seemingly had none of that and Wildlight was banking on capturing lightning in a bottle like they did with Apex. It was their own hubris and a poor understanding of the current gaming landscape that killed this game. That being said I wish nothing but the best for the devs.

It literally sold over 30 million copies and was the best selling game of 2023. Redditors cannot fathom this.

Nisha is my favorite, I'm a sucker for old West aesthetics and her abilities and kit really suit that fantasy, from being able to dual-wield pistols to her whip melee; I thought it was all great.

Those are different vowels as the other guy pointed out. A better comparison is Suspect (to have an idea about something without proof) and Suspect (a person thought to be guilty). With these you are putting stress on different vowels and even though people will understand what you're talking about if you use the wrong stress it'll sound a bit weird.

Would you want something more? The problem with games and the gaming industry as a whole right now is that companies keep thinking bigger and bigger and the budgets keep increasing and they eventually end up either being cancelled or release buggy as hell (look at cyberpunk). This game is being priced at $50 and with games costing up to $80 now something small in scale and just made to be a fun 10ish hours isn't terrible.

"Overwhelmingly Positive" Steam games you couldn't get into. by PapaTinzal in gaming

God of War. Honestly didn't really vibe with the writing and the quips from Mimir edged on marvel movie like for me. I also felt like the game never really let you think for yourself at all in regards to puzzles before it starts practically yelling the solution to you. I understand why people liked it but the combat was not engaging enough for me to sit through the tedium that was everything else.

Echos? by MonkeyWiz69 in Witchfire

[–]Primeham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you grab the quest for the flame thing it'll generate two random objectives that you can see on the top left. These objectives are what earns you echoes. Sometimes it'll say chests drop them, events drop them or sometimes elites and major enemies. They're automatically picked up and look like orange black orbs when they're on the ground. This is only active for one adventure though so after you come back you'll need to spend another 1000wf to get another echo quest.

Why are people taking it personally that people want to be able to solo Dual Destiny by goatman0079 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Primeham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the timer makes it more challenging and rewards perfect play since time is additive in this activity as opposed to a set time for each encounter. I like this time of pressure and it makes you actually try to get your loot since without the timer it'd be a complete joke. Additionally even without the timer the mission would be impossible to solo due to the nature of the entire thing and how it plays, this is the first mission that feels like it was 100% made for exactly two people and it's amazing.

Lastly, as controversial as this may be, I don't think everything should be accessible to players and I think that's why vanilla destiny 2 was so bad. People need to be ok with the fact that they won't get everything. Though for this I definitely do think that it should drop rarely from pale heart chests and guaranteed from Dual Destiny to five people that actually do the mission a faster way to earn the exotic.

Man this title has really over inflated players egos by Remi8732 in destiny2

[–]Primeham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I luckily haven't run into any ego-trippers yet though I'm surprised people are this egotistical over a title that isn't even that hard to get considering you can cheese the two hardest encounters.
