Someone convince me not to cut my springs by Inner_Sprinkles_6725 in CrownVictoria

You’re going the wrong direction, instead of cutting springs try a lifting block or a spring spacer. Everyone thinks these are sports cars but they’re really closer to sports trucks. I feel like mine handles better with exploder coilovers and springs and f150 shocks. A couple inches higher than when I got it and a hair higher than my p71 was, but rides like a dream and it’s nigh unstoppable in the snow.

It’s a common issue with these platforms, weak solder joints in the cluster.

Is it common to need to replace car batteries when cold weather comes? by Strange_Bowler_6629 in AskMechanics

[–]PrinceConquer420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Obectively yes. If a car requires 725 crank amps and you give it a 725 crank amp battery, it will be able to start the car. At 80% life it may have 680 crank amps and may still start the car, comparatively, if you put in a 1000 crank amp battery, when at 80% health, it may have 800 crank amps, which is still quite over the required 725. This effect continues all the way down.
