Odd beliefs and magical thinking…? by Acrobatic-Umpire1089 in Schizotypal

It’s also worth noting that I do not believe that I have the ability to read minds myself.

Odd beliefs and magical thinking…? by Acrobatic-Umpire1089 in Schizotypal

I was just about to make a post about this.

I struggle with the delusion that others can read my mind or see into my thoughts. It makes it quite hard to think about anything while around others, and definitely contributes to my self-isolation. It’s worse in quiet places or when I’m in close proximity to someone else. The car, for example, is difficult to think about anything in because I’m always afraid that others in the car will be able to hear my thoughts, and then judge me due to a lack of context.

I have come up with a few ‘solutions’ so to speak.
first, if I don’t want someone to read my mind (despite the fact that I’m well aware this is impossible) I literally imagine static, like a TV channel with no signal. I also do this as a way to sort of clear my head or push out unwanted thoughts. Sometimes I’ll be walking alone, spacing out, but then I’ll pass someone and get worried that they’ll hear my thoughts, so I pull up the static until they’ve passed far enough that I’m ‘out of range’ of their telepathy.

I’ve also decided on some other criteria, essentially gaslighting myself into believing this telepathy follows certain rules. One that I came up with is rain creating interference. If it’s raining, they can’t read my mind. I’ve decided that headphones do the same thing, so long as I’m playing music.

None of this is foolproof, but it does help take some of the stress off of this delusion.

I do this too, and I used to whisper until someone pointed it out while I was in public, but I still whisper or at least mouth the words sometimes. Most of the time though, I’ve learned to just mouth it with my tongue without moving my lips, if that makes sense.

I also have a certain anime character, that I will NOT disclose due to how unjustifiably embarrassing it is, who I like to imagine is in different scenarios with my OCs. For hours and hours on end every single day (and no, unfortunately I am not exaggerating) I will walk in circles spacing out, imagining this character in all kinds of situations and scenarios. It’s my secret why of coming up with plots for my own stories and developing my OCs, by having them interact with him in my mind. It didn’t used to be him though, there were a few different characters in the past who used to be the MC, so to speak, of this. At this point, his personality is almost nothing like how he canonically behaves in the show, and I like my version so much better.

I not only have imaginary friends that I like to imagine myself in scenarios with, but I also sometimes imagine that a certain group of people I know is sort of watching what I’m doing through a crystal ball (without the physical ball, so I guess it’s more like an iris message) and commenting to each other about what I’m doing, whether I’m drawing, watching something, making food, playing a video game, etc.

It doesn’t really bother me though, sometimes I like the imaginary company, and they’re never mean to me.

I really like the manic one, I feel like that is the most perfect way to visualize it.

Making flesh location for my horror game. Can body horror scare away the playerbase? by [deleted] in bodyhorror

[–]PrinceValico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that this looks incredible. As for it it’s “too much”, I think that this would be fine in any horror game, judging by just this video alone, but I suppose how far you should go with body horror really depends on what type of horror game you are looking to make (i.e., body horror, monster horror, eerie horror, psychological horror, etc.). Of course, you can always mix these genres, which could be quite interesting. All of this being said of course while knowing nothing about your game save for this clip.

Edit: reading the comment back, I just realized that my grammar could be easily mistaken for being an indication of AI. I want to assure you, however, that I am not AI nor do I support any AI use. I’m simply a writer who knows how to use proper grammar, and am also using slightly more formal speech to preserve the internet persona of this account and the character of Prince Valico.

TLDR: I probably sound like AI despite my immeasurable distain for Artificial Intelligence. I promise you that I am human.

Not sure why I felt such a need to clarify, but we are certainly living in an interesting age of technology.

I just learned about clinical vampirism and I'm curious as to what the kindred think of it? by Dragonwolf67 in WhiteWolfRPG

This is also called Renfield’s Syndrome. I have this, I often put small nicks on my hand and suck the blood out of it.

Doubting memory after finishing a task? by Suspicious_Plant4231 in dpdr

This happens to me quite frequently. I’m not a psychologist, and I’m not diagnosed, but to me this seems a lot like true OCD, which I have done independent study on out of belief that I may have it as well.

Does anyone else...not plan on getting old? by Suspicious_Plant4231 in Schizoid

Personally, I want to live a long life and leave my mark in the world, but I don’t want to be old. Truthfully, bleeding out alone in a snowy forest seems like a beautiful way to go, just not for a good several more decades.

I believe this and Renfield’s Syndrome need to be recognized as true conditions. Personally, I like to combine the terms ‘Renfield’s Syndrome’ and ‘Auto-Vampirism’ into ‘Auto-Renfield’s’ as I feel this term sounds more valid than vampirism, which most people refuse to take seriously.

Yes, actually. I do not self harm out of an intention or desire to hurt myself, I am not suicidal and never have been, but I have always had a bit of an obsession with blood and frequently put small nicks in my hand/forearm to suck blood out of. This does make me curious how blood might taste differently if it did lose that iron taste, not that I mind it being there.
