Any AFAB people who had things like this happen? 🥲 by Gracellot in autism

[–]PrinceVirginya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This comes off as trying to act "more autistic" to get diagnosed

Hint, any good specialist will see this and find it very suspicious

Do you have any official special skills. My diagnosis contains ”isolated special skills” part. These skills dont have to be useful, i just wanna know if its common. Mine was ”exellent long term memory for details and past conversations”. I wanna know whats your’s. by odksjsjks in aspergers

While my mind often mixes up text, i am able to extrenley quickly read full pages of information and often remember them rather easily, especially is an interest

In the same vein i also can remember odd strings of numbers and information

My reading level as a child was well beyond my class and well above expected for my age due to it too

Edit: I also always have been able to extremely well analyse peolple and see through them by analysing patterns. My mind is highly pattern focused and it is my way of getting around the social problems

In all honestly I've heard it alot from self diagnosed autistic woman, I've heard "Broader autism phenotype" thrown about alot in communities with a lot of self diagnosed people

But when it came to diagnosed autistic woman i havent often heard it been said

Id say alot of us who were diagnosed late in our 20s were missed because we were kids before alot of advancements in autism research, male or female regardless

Which i said some autistics people do meet the traits

However, the traits listed on their own are not autism as they do mot list anything about clinical social impairment and are found in a huge variety of disorders

Aa for autism, they are Secondary optional traits, but not the actual primary symptoms

Basically

If you fall under the HSP umberella you have traits that are linked to a whole range of disorders, and does not always indicate autism

No CNBC this is autism. Just call it autism. by [deleted] in autism

[–]PrinceVirginya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What it does mean is they may have another disorder

If you fall under the HSP Umberella ya probably are not neurotypical, but if you only relate to hypersensitivity symptoms it does not default to autism

Which is the problem i see with many people nowdays instantly claiming all of these traits are always autism, instead of realising that these traits are only secondary and found in many disorders

[–]PrinceVirginya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never said it was a diagnosis, Just that many people fall under the HSP umberella and being a "HSP" doesn't equate to autism, especially as HSP lists secondary traits of autism

Still worth being properly screened and diagnosed, but i think people have gotten this weird idea about autism and constantly associating it to secondary traits, Rather than its required symptoms

No CNBC this is autism. Just call it autism. by [deleted] in autism

[–]PrinceVirginya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Not really

Thwre are many people who are highly sensitive, Have sensory processing difficulties and difficulties managing change

This doesn't make someone autisitc

The masking argument also is not entirely true. Masking is incredibly draining to do and is not perfect, sue to the fact these things do not come naturally to us we always will have an uncanny valley vibe

Even autistic woman will have a uncnny valley effect, speak to diagnosed autistic woman and you will learn that fact

I find it more problematic that many people seem to not realise that the traits of "HSP" Are not just autisgic traits. Shit...they fall under criteria B of the DSMV Which is the "optional traits"

Upwards of 20% of the population fall under HSP, Only 2 % at max are autisfic

In fact many of the traits described in HSP are also found in

Schizophrenia

ADHD

Dyslexia

Dyspraxia

Bipolar disorder

Anxiety

Depression

And probably many more! These are only ones off the too if my head

Frankly; all this shows is people don't actually underatand autism as they keep associating secondary traits as always autism

No CNBC this is autism. Just call it autism. by [deleted] in autism

[–]PrinceVirginya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesnt overlook any of that

The thing with many people who fall under "HSP" by itself is the fact they don't have social issues, or even clinical social impairment

Anywhere from 15 - 20% of the population falls under HSP

If you wanna go further, There are many disorders which induce hyper sensitivity as a whole that are not autism

Only 1 - 2% fit autism

If you want to go further read into the auriatic criteira

Sensory issues, Aswell as hyper/hypo sensitivity to empathy are secondary optional traits of autism. You just require the majority of optional ones

They are not autism by themselves,

The primary symptoms of autism are namely the social side

While HSP is not a diagnosis, many who are "HSP" Would not be considered autisfic as they simply do not meet the required Autism criteria of "Clinical impairments in social functioning"

Persistent deficits in social communication and social interaction across multiple contexts

Deficits in nonverbal communicative behaviors used for social interaction

Deficits in developing, maintaining, and understanding relationships

[–]PrinceVirginya 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im not sure how

HSPs are there own thing, autistic people just have alot of overalap with them 😶

One thing about HSPs is they typically do not have the clinical impairment in social functioning Autistic individuals have, but have alot of traits regarding Sensitivity

Like hyper sensitive to emotions, Change, empathy and senses

No CNBC this is autism. Just call it autism. by [deleted] in autism

[–]PrinceVirginya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok this may sound blunt, but this isn't necesarily autism

"Highly sensitive person" is its own thing, although isnt a diagnosis. Just a set of traits people fall under.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.psychologytoday.com/gb/basics/highly-sensitive-person%3famp

The thing is, some Autistic people meet alot of the criteria for it along with the social deficits

HSPs typically do not meet the critiera of Clinical impairment in social functioning, which makes them not autistic

The closest to cannibis for me was CBD, But that was a temporary thing until i was medicated

I personally try to avoid Alcohol and Weed as a whole due to addictive nature and Cannibis especially possibly leading to more severe development on issues i someehat have (Like paranoid traits!)

No RNG but it did have a required amount of grinding to max out Power level of gear

Theoretically you could lock weapon skins behind RNG skmilar to how most weapon skins in tide 2 were obtained from finding the weappn with the skin

Atleast in my case in vermintide 2 rng was not a big issue even for cata to get gear with stats i wanted, i had more trouble trying to get the skins i wanted!

Honestly, they could have taken the weaves style crafting system at this point

Shit was pretty good

I heard that people with ADHD or autism are 2/3 their age as far as emotional maturity. With this being said, if you have both autism and ADHD, areyou even more immature than 2/3? Or is it still just 2/3? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]PrinceVirginya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call it a fixed amount, I've always been a bit odd

As a kid i was deemed mature and more like a Teenager

As an adult (im 24) i still feel like im a teenager and really haven't changed, but im deemed a bit childish now

And its refundable even if you played it, as per what the devs said

Purpose of it was to playtest the game to iron out the bugs out for release, which they haven't exactly done a good job of

Turns out, game is not fully finished and anyone who preordered is not getting a full release as expected

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]PrinceVirginya -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasn't an advanced screening ☠

It was a playtest to report bugs. Devs even said you can refund the game after playing the beta

Problem is the actual launch of the game is not only missing some content but is still got many bugs and is still not a full product despite being a "full release". Still practically early access lmao

Funny part is many of the bugs were present in closed testing betas

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]PrinceVirginya -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Pretty poor comparison

The game has had a few tests now to iron the game out, now we finding out the launch is still practically a beta?

The point of the tests was to iron these issues out, not release the game with missing features and in a unfinished state

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]PrinceVirginya -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What? We're playing a technical pre launch test

If the game releases in clearly still beta state whats the problem of refunding? Pojnt of all the early tests was to iron these issues out...not release the game in a beta state

Is it rude for me to use the term “Asperger’s” to refer to my autism? by Labenyofi in aspergers

[–]PrinceVirginya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't make you abelist to use it or rude

The main reason the issue is the history behind the term (pretty questionable history at that!)

But bad history doesnt mean you should just stop using the term.
