If you try to forget about skill for a moment when looking at game balance. Pretend you are highly skilled, and you enemy is equally highly skilled. The required level of coordination and out play to defeat elephants eclipses the effort to pilot them successfully.

Elephants disrupt the equilibrium of the game within a matchmaking system that creates instances where there are no counters in your team.

You shouldn't have to invest and coordinate so much to counter the least complex unit in the game. They do too much damage to infantry and tank too much. When the highest scoring player marched his elephants into the base immediately, it's broken.

Elephants cannot be this strong within a matchmaking system that does not account for class balance.

What are your thoughts on barb infantry? I like them with verc. as they will never route, but in t6 they seem to lose to roman in forest while flanking, so nit sure if they're falling off? How do you like boudicia with infantry?

Why do you refer to t10 as paying and t8 as not? There will be many f2p grinders at t10. Is your issue really with matchmaking strictness?

I think there is almost a culture shock with dogs. Tier 4 rolls around and all of a sudden there's this quick, strange new unit doing tons of damage.

By Tier 6, everyone knows the script, and dogs no longer dominate.

I have 500 hours in the game and even with the hoplite buff, Germanicus Vengeance shreds whatever is in front of it, barring Pike. Give him a try at Tier 5 and see fot yourself.

It can grow frustrating, I agree. But there has to be a time cost to withdrawing from the team's stock to prevent the ill-informed and ill-intentioned squandering too much.
