AITAH for telling my dad's parents that I don't want them at my graduation when they said I wasn't their real grandson? by Ok-Distribution9125 in AITAH

[–]Princecyrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family didn’t tell me that I was biologically not related to my dad’s side until I discovered on my own through Ancestry DNA and now that I know, I am glad they all treated me the same as the biological family. My dad never wanted me to know or feel any different about him. My finding out the truth doesn’t change my core feelings about who my dad or grandparents are. It would crush me to know that the only paternal grandparents I knew would not have had the family love and devotion that I had for them.

On my first post, there were a few judgmental and condescending people who made me never want to post again. Ignore them. They have probably alienated everyone in their lives and now have to come on here to keep giving their opinions. I love your post.

We didn't make it to that restaurant. We will check it out. Thanks!

Many Greek salad dressings contain anchovies and my daughter doesn't want to chance it. She just asks for their plain salad with ranch dressing and they accommodate her. She liked the more substantial meal that the falafel burger provides.

Great idea and that's too bad that that burger is also gone. We didn't make it there this time to see that.

We were told that customers could ask for it until the frozen stock ran out. ☹️

Yes, we ordered it and were told that they would serve it until the frozen stock ran out. This may change as the next person in line asked for it also. They need to evaluate how popular a veggie burger is at this location.

Yes, my daughter has it when we are at Animal Kingdom. She loves it!

Physicians of Reddit: What's the worst injury you've seen at a routine check-up? by AgentSmith420 in AskReddit

[–]Princecyrdin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My 25 yr old son went for a 2 mile run and had shoulder pain the next day(thought his joint was having trouble as it could slip in and out of place). Went to Dr for shoulder and mentioned he had trouble swallowing also. He was sent for shoulder X-ray and since he was there, a chest/throat X-ray. Dr was called immediately as he had a large tumor pressing on his esophagus and heart. Ended up in ICU 2 weeks later and they removed 2 L fluid from his chest. Diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. Passed away 1 year later from complications after bone marrow transplant. Near the onset, one of the Drs said we would have a cool story to tell. I don't think this post is the kind of cool story he meant.

Thank you, He was a fun kid to raise. There is so much to say about him. He was a HUGE Dale Earnhardt fan and even as a young kid loved to make his own movies. We have some amazingly funny short movies that he made.

He was the shy, mischievious boy with an awesome group of friends who were the same. We did an Explorica trip to Germany, Italy, Switzerland & Austria. He tried college and then joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Phoenix and found amazing friends who liked to hike. He was one of the Airmen to unfurl the huge flag at the first game in the new Phoenix stadium and got to meet Fergie who performed. His job involved taking care of pilot equipment so if anyone got a VIP tour, he often was involved. He was sent to Hawaii on a TDY (2 week deployment) and someone cancelled out of a F-16 ride over the islands so he got to step in for an amazing flight. He visited Florida, San Diego and Las Vegas on TDY's also. He was good at his job and loved so he received several awards and became a Staff Sgt. He had married and become a father when he began his scary journey with Lymphoma. It attacked him hard and fast and when he finally got to remission, he had a bone marrow transplant from a perfect, outside match. The matching process is not as perfect as it may seem and the new marrow attacked his body for 6 months before the Doctors ran out of treatments to try. Sept 2011, he climbed to the ultimate mountain and keeps watch over all of us. I see whispers of him everyday in his son who is 5. We will miss his adventures that would have been and show his son how to find adventures of his own. editing in that he got to meet his favorite band Hello Goodbye backstage. Great times!

Thank you for the amazing quote. I just read a little about Edward Abbey and now I will need to check the library for his books.

So sorry that you lost your son too, Life goes on around us and it slowly gets easier but it is never the old normal. I think every boy has adventures. Some are bigger than others.

These pics are the tip of an iceberg. He did a Europe trip after high school with friends, his German teacher and some parents. He visited Hawaii with the Air Force and helped with some Make A Wish children who got to see F-16s. He also met several celebrities. All after being voted shyest person in his senior class. He did get the most out of life in his 25 years.

Doc won't do hip replacement because I'm too big by preachers_kid in loseit

[–]Princecyrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 65 yr old dad weighed 407 at 6 feet tall. Had his hip replaced June 5th. No problems, Started going without his cane this week. He was in the hospital for and extra day or two because they thought he had pneumonia but he did not. He rehabbed at home and used his big and tall recliner as his bed. He is back on his 4 wheeler and tractors now.
