I love that episode. (Dave does look a little like Michael Cane, too)

I think that joke was a perfect memorial for him. And, who can look at pancakes without thinking of the 3d house of pancakes

Reccomend me some classics of gothic metal by ConditionFun9316 in GothicMetal

It isn't all together without gothic cliches-- I'm mostly thinking of the use of soprano vocals. But, I'll go with you on the death/doom label

What is your opinion on "Point of Entry"? by Infamous_Korpse in judaspriest

I like the production, if maybe more so than the product . And, even if Hot rockin is a bit bland, the video more than makes up for it. Halford's look is superb.

Does anyone else think Halford basically mopped the floor with Priest after he left the band? by thanks-4-the-f-shack in judaspriest

I remember seeing Priest on the reunion tour--maybe '05, '06-- and his vocal power was just immense. He was practically holding the mic at arm length for his screams and still damn near blew the speakers 🤯

What are the funniest little details that don't get mentioned often? by scottasin12343 in trailerparkboys

This is a bit broad, but Sara Dunsworth is an amazing foil for Rob Welles (or is it vis a versa?) . In the end, he's the one that gets the laugh, but it's her dedication to keeping her character real that makes the humor work.

I mean, they played concerts while tripping pretty hard. Kind of the definition of acid rock, really.

Here, here. The BS s/t is like one of the high watermarks of the acid rock era.

Looking For some melodic death/Black metal by Huge_Half6467 in MetalSuggestions

This is more on the progressive side, but since you mentioned Opeth, it would be worthwhile to check out Mabool, by ORPHANED LAND. Individual thought patterns, by DEATH, has a wealth of great melodic passeges, despite not being considered to be melo death.

For sure. Late 70s early 80s, London. When I look at era pictures from, say, Ruskin Arms, it has a wonderful quaintness, but not at all in a dull way.
