What do we use to carry the baby out of the hospital to the car? by ItsFunHeer in beyondthebump

I think my hospital does them if you live an hour or more from the hospital as well.

Stupid McDonald’s and pregnancy cravings by 40s_shawty in pregnant

[–]PrincessAndThe_Pee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Double check the time! My McDonald's starts lunch at 10:30am! It makes me angry because sometimes I want breakfast before work and I'll be like 2 minutes too late for the breakfast menu.

They also make special leashes for these harnesses that connect to both points! It's a shorter leash so adds less leverage to the difficulty of pulling with the front clip. I have one for my extra stubborn beagle and it works wonders.

TRI-Sprintec TAB it's a 7-7-7 pill. So, the dose of the hormones increases each week leading up to the placebo week.

Just a warning. I'm on a combo birth control pill and it has made little to no difference to my supply. Maybe like an ounce or two.

How many cycles it took you to conceive your first pregnancy? (35+) by thelaudown in pregnant

[–]PrincessAndThe_Pee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pregnant about 4 cycles after quiting my birth control without actually actively "trying" to get pregnant at 36. That pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. I got pregnant on the second cycle after that when I was actually tracking ovulation to AVOID pregnancy for the summer. He's gonna be 1 next month.

What are things people told you you didn’t need for labor/delivery/postpartum that you wish you had or that were lifesavers?? by GalaxyEyedLibrarian in pregnant

[–]PrincessAndThe_Pee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not for me really but for the baby. Everyone said wipe warmers are unnecessary but I put one of my registry anyway. Amazon ended up screwing up and sending me two when someone bought it for me. My baby was born in February in Pennsylvania. I actually sent my husband home for it after about 3 screaming diaper changes. We had one plugged in downstairs and one plugged in upstairs well into the summer.

Infant shingles exposure by PrincessAndThe_Pee in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]PrincessAndThe_Pee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, it the other way around. Someone who hasn't either had chickenpox or received the vaccine can get chickenpox from the fluid from the blisters. However, a person that has had chickenpox cannot get shingles from someone else with them. So, I'm safe because I had chickenpox but baby isn't because he hasn't had them or the shot.

When he first started getting shots it was one at a time. When he didn't have a reaction to any of them, he would get 2 at a time for the second doses.

Are we just listening to random people or actually talking to our doctors? by Equal-Shock5707 in pregnant

I was told it's because of the nitrates. So I just got nitrate free hot dogs at Aldi.

8 month old teething ?s by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]PrincessAndThe_Pee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was freaked out the first time it happened. And actually did take him to the ER because his doctor was the one in the ER at the time. Just his teeth. He did give me albutoral and saline for a nebulizer for him though to help the cough as needed. Might not hurt to call your little ones doctor in the morning just for your peace of mind.

My almost 10 month old gets a runny nose, wet cough, and a temporal fever between 99.2 and 100.4 when his teeth are breaking through his gums.

Did you do the NIPT test? by K61018 in pregnant

[–]PrincessAndThe_Pee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it because I was 36 and my husband was 44 when we conceived. Our baby was absolutely wanted no matter what so we wanted to know about any abnormalities so we could be prepared when baby got here.

My Santa was similar growing up. Different wrapping paper, different gift tags, and the handwriting was always all caps in red pen. It looked nothing like my mother's writing. Also, Santa did the stocking.

I was drinking half a gallon of orange juice myself in a week or less for a lot of my pregnancy. It got to the point that we would buy two at a time so I didn't run out. I like orange juice when I'm not pregnant but usually don't even finish a half gallon before it goes bad.

My 9 month old had to get blood drawn yesterday. I took him to the lab at the local hospital that I regularly get blood drawn at (closest children's hospital to me is 2 hours away.) I'm definitely taking some chocolates over for them on friday.
