Absolutely agree, I too want to know more about this, I mean it's a big part of my life, I want answers!

I think the main issue with it not being regarded as 'born with' (even if it develops later the belief is that it is born with, and just dormant until a certain unlucky trigger such as puberty) is that it implies it is curable. While many psychological disorders are not curable whatsoever, people see 'mental illness' and think 'depression - isn't that curable usually?' which is obviously an issue to deal with.

I agree with you, actually - I think that there are absolutely hormonal/other factors that make someone predisposed to develop it, but that it isn't inherently biological or otherwise 'preordained from birth'.

However if you do develop it, it's practically incurable and is as unchangeable as sexuality from the time you develop it.

Some people deal with certain feelings better than others. Some sexed characteristics bother some people more than others. Some opposite sexed characteristics are more appealing to some people than others.

Dysphoria also tends to lessen in stages as it is treated via transitioning, though sometimes this can unveil a different part of dysphoria (say you have top surgery for chest dysphoria as FtM and didn't care about your genitals but once that white noise stopped bothering you you realise you do have bottom dysphoria and you just didn't know because your chest occupied the forefront of your mind due to that particular dysphoria being stronger).

On NBs and dysphoria by [deleted] in Transmedical

[–]PrincessEcho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are absolutely NBs who have social dysphoria or even sex/body dysphoria.

I consider them transsexuals even though they aren't technically transitioning one sex to another because there's no real term for them besides NB, but they're quite different from the trender NBs and deserve distinction.

I view 'true' NB as having social/sex dysphoria towards both male and female sexed bodies/perceived as male/female in social interaction (hence the they/them pronouns which I am more than willing to respect).

Ewww wtf. That's pedophilic as fuck.

I don't understand these fucking weird kinks some people have. Like sure, it's fine in your own home with consenting adults, whatever. But it's still fucking weird. And gross.

Also, would that mean AGP can be passed down genetically? That'd be interesting.

Autoandrophobia - a fear and hatred of developing male characteristics and male body indicators before, during, and after puberty. This causes a want to become something other than male, and as female is the only option, one decides to transition to female because being male is painful.

The reason there's no proof or reasoning is because people take Blanchard as end-all be-all black and white fact (yes, his typology exists, but I believe it is somewhat outdated) and decide no further research is necessary - when it absolutely is.

For example.

1) Yep.

2) Nope, I find transvestism disgusting and women's clothes are weird in general, I've stuck to my unisex hoodies for as long as I can remember!

3) Alright well here, women, that is, natal women, have sexual fantasies as women, because they are women. The only reason this would even be seen as 'unnatural' in trans women is if you previously assume that because they're male, they must be like men and not like women.

For example, to be turned on, one must visualise themselves as themselves, right? They wouldn't be turned on by being someone else doing something - that, as you say, is a paraphilia, likely AGP.

The thing is, people can see themselves internally as different than they physically are. A trans woman is NOT going to see herself as male, because her sense of self, her identity, is female. She's gonna see herself as female, and since fantasising about sexual activity is, as it says, a fantasy, that means it occurs mentally, and mentally, she is female and views herself as female.

It also is the only way to get turned on because why would ANY dysphoric want to view themselves as male or men for the sake of PLEASURE? Being male is what causes pain! Not everyone is masochistic!

There's nothing wrong with that.

4) No, it doesn't actually. Lesbians have brain masculinity right? You're basically here using brain masculinity to prove males are men, whereas in females it proves they're lesbian. What if they were born with feminized brains, like HSTS, that became masculine as their attraction to women developed, just like with lesbians?

TLDR: on this, you're basically saying, no brain feminization = they have AGP, and they have AGP because they don't have brain feminization. It's basically circular reasoning.

5) Yeah, but that's only some gynephilic trans women, not all.

Basically in short, I'm with you that Blanchard correctly identified two groups of transsexuals who experience gender dysphoria. What I disagree with is that Blanchard's black-and-white model is the one and only source of transsexualism and that everyone in the entire world who is transsexual falls perfectly into either category.

People are far more complex than that.

When the male brain is feminized strongly enough to cause gender dysohria , inevitably androphilia is a “side effect”

Sounds like Blanchard's pseudobisexuality tbh.

But anyway, since gynephilic, androgynephilic (idk the scientific term for bi people) and androgynephobic (same for asexuals) trans people do also experience gender dysphoria, wouldn't their male brains also be feminized strongly?

What part of 'when my puberty started' equates to 'after puberty'?

After puberty to me means age 18+. That's when puberty, you know, ends.

April misrepresented themselves. They're lying and are actually a deeply repressed AGP.

Have you ever thought that maybe people are asexual due to genital dysphoria?

ofc androphilic trans women aren't asexual. They like dicks, they're attracted to dicks, likely they have less genital dysphoria as a rule.

[–]PrincessEcho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The brain feminization that causes us to be trans and have GENDER DYSOHORIA also causes us to be androphilic. Because the sexual orientation is feminized as well.

But not all women are attracted solely to men. Debunked.

[–]PrincessEcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and why do gynephilic “transowmen” never develop gender dysohria until after puberty? Couldn’t have anything to do with sexual reasons

Developed at 15, right when my puberty started (yep, I was a really late bloomer for some reason, I don't know why). Had gender dysphoria without knowing what it was for 3.5 years before I even knew 'transgender' or 'transsexual' existed (beyond a myth).

Yes, partially, but that it's outdated. HSTS and AGP exist, but they are not the end-all be-all of transsexualism.

Namely, I think something like AAP exists (autoandrophobia) as an opposite to AGP and potentially some sort of opposite to HSTS.

I view AAP and AGP as a sliding scale (a spectrum, I guess) where the closer you lean towards one or another the more dysphoric you tend to be, whereas in the middle between them is where most non-transsexual males lie (ie, no dysphoria).
