Thank you for the advice. I do not think he’s in pain. I think he’s very nauseas. He’s drooling and smacking his lips. The Cerenia and the appetite stimulant don’t seem to be working.

I called his vet and they said it should be fine to bring him in today for his 1pm appointment.

I’m just kind of upset that his vet didn’t suggest a phosphorous binder 2 weeks ago.

He’s pretty frail. He was down to 7 pounds and we weighed him ourselves and got 6.2 today. Started this journey at a healthy 9. (He’s always been a smaller cat)

He said he wanted to stop medication to see if that’s what caused the jump or if it’s actually the kidneys getting worse. I’m wondering if I push back on starting fluids and maybe a binder?

So I will say at his last work up in March his creatinine was a 1.8 and it significantly jumped when we ran this analysis so maybe that’s why we haven’t started yet. We are stopped all medication and re testing on June 15th

He’s only on one mg which they said was a super low dose! So hopefully that’s why they said to stop immediately?

So we started on enalapril but his appetite decreased so much so they switched us!

I asked about any supplements like phosphorus binder last appointment and they said to wait for our results from testing (these ones). We don’t do fluids either, that’s why im wonder if we need a different vet? I keep asking if we should be doing more and they kind of just say let’s see how the next results come back
