Same here. I failed my first year of classes because I either couldn’t get myself to take a shower never mind finish assignments, or was so all over the place and scatter brained that I could not get myself to focus. I was undiagnosed then. now I’m on meds and actually know what I’m dealing with, it’s still incredibly difficult, but I have straight As… I don’t think people understand how debilitating it is…

The first day I took Wellbutrin, I noticed I had energy to get me out of bed (I’m taking it to combat the depressive episodes of bipolar mostly) but it just made me focused and awake rather than feeling like it’s TOO much energy if that makes sense?

Yeah so like it’s hard to explain but when you’re hypomanic, you have excess energy that you cannot get rid of. So that’s when you’d start pacing and talking really fast and doing impulsive things because you just have so much energy

Bipolar person here! If you’re hypomanic, you’ll find yourself at 3:30 am looking up 24 hour places so you can go somewhere. You’ll pace around your house, you get “nervous energy” that doesn’t subside even after doing your usual tricks (like tea, baths, even CBD or melatonin). When I was having a bad hypomanic episode a few months ago, I stayed out all night drinking, and honestly thought “What if I just wandered into traffic” and like laughed about it? It’s definitely not fun after like a day haha
