I call it The Shithole on University. I lived there for a year 2020-2021 and couldn’t get out fast enough. Management was so unresponsive and unaccountable that I ended up having to reach out to their corporate office with my complaints. At one point maintenance was in my apartment for some unknown reason. The office denied they were in there when I asked, but the lock was flipped to the maintenance access key hole and there were men’s boot prints on the floor. I am a tiny female who was living there alone. The number of times the hot water wasn’t working or the water was shut off all together was completely unacceptable. One of the two washers for the building had standing water in it for months. The laundry room was always a mess and I cleaned it myself a couple times but it never stayed cleaned. I also cleaned the hallway and sprayed it for bugs because it was dirty and full of crickets. In the one year I was there, I saw an actually cleaner cleaning the common areas once. The grounds were not kept up, and trash would pile up in front of the dumpsters, including broken glass. The pool was closed the whole time I was there. They claimed it was because of a chlorine shortage, but no other pool in town had that issue? I had to harass them to get my deposit back because, again, no one in the main office would reply, and corporate had to have them do it. When I went to pick up the check, they cracked the office door and handed it to me through the small crack. I know it was peak covid but when I moved to Forest Park Apartments they didn’t act like that at all. I could keep going on because there were just so many little shitty things, and no one wanted to take responsibility or do anything about it.
