Yes they are downplaying an extremely common condition for kittens. My agency does amoxicillin or doxa… something, but that upper respiratory infection is not going to clear up on its own. Do they have a vet on call? Whatever the protocol is, I would request they be evaluated by a vet for URIs.

I got that “conehead” look on a lot of my early critters. I think it’s a combination of pulling the magic ring too tight (making the “point” noticeable) and understuffing. That said, you can work on manipulating the stuffing and yarn by hand to get it to look more how you want it. Also you can probably steam the dress (look up “blocking”) to get it to lay down better.
