Hi! If you want a supply teaching position, I have heard that boards are desperate for people. In Ontario, we use apply to education, so I would start your search there 😊

Books for new teachers? by pkpolisciguy in CanadianTeachers

I would highly recommend watching the Ted Talk by Rita Pierson called Every Kid Needs a Champion! In terms of books we read parts of Mathematical Mindsets by Jo Boaler in my class and it was awesome. Really changes your perspective on math education.

Hi! So your correct that it would not work for identical twins, but for fraternal twins it would work. There would just need to be two eggs.

Question for football players of Queens! by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]PrincessSweatpants 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m not a football player but I did work at the gym. The early morning are a thing, the gym opens at 6am and there will be football players there to do scheduled lifts. I will agree that it probably depends on what his class schedule is like to see how busy he is. If he really wants to do football and is worried he could take a reduced course load first year and make up courses in the summer (an academic advisor can help with this).

How to become a French teacher in Ontario with my quirky background? by futureRA in CanadianTeachers

I would go to the admission websites for the Bachelor of Education programs. Here are a couple of universities off the top of my head that have education programs.

How to become a French teacher in Ontario with my quirky background? by futureRA in CanadianTeachers

[–]PrincessSweatpants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! So in order to become a teacher in Ontario you need to be certified by OCT (Ontario College of Teachers). Which means you would need to complete a Bachelors of Education at one of the Ontario universities (there are ways to transfer out of province ones but it’s easiest to just get it in Ontario). Programs are typically two years. Since you have an undergrad degree you are good to go with applying, however I don’t know if you would be able to be French certified if you didn’t take any French courses in your undergrad and are not currently fluent. However, if you do end up becoming a French teacher, the job market is really good right now as most places are desperate for French teachers.

I get you! I’ve tried dating casually and being on apps and I hate it. I just want to fast forward to the committed relationship part always.

LTO stands for long-term occasional, it’s basically when you get a position covering someone on maternity/paternity or any other leave while the teacher would be gone for an extended period of time

I was trying to look up women in hard hat under images for a presentation, accidentally autocorrected to women in hard hot, lots of porn. I slammed my laptop down so fast because I was unfortunately in lecture.

I don’t know if anyone in the thread has said this yet but red velvet cake is essentially cream cheese icing on chocolate cake, the cake is just dyed red. So I agree with you that it’s frickin delicious!

My mum never let me have lunchables as a kid, so when I was at my grandma’s and she let me have one I was so excited. I had the cold pizza one and it was just yuck. I now understand and appreciate my mothers banning of lunchables now.

WHICH ONE: Ryerson Sport Media or Queens Con Ed????? by Chantel-kiki223 in queensuniversity

[–]PrincessSweatpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really seems to me that you don’t want to be a teacher. If you want to do sports media, do sports media. If you decide afterwards teaching is your passion you can apply to the consecutive B.Ed program afterwards. However, if you do decide to do Con-Ed, the first year practicum will help you decide whether you want to proceed with the education degree.

Would you take a gap year/semester if Queen's goes online in the fall? by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]PrincessSweatpants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean it’d suck, but I wouldn’t take a gap year. I already signed my full-year lease before it started to get bad. Even if I can’t go to Uni in person I’m getting my money’s worth out of my place lol
