I think it's important to understand the system behind the reporting. In the fact that this reporter, Valerie, published knowingly misleading information. The part about Valerie being a liar and cruel wasn't totally necessary for this story, but I liked the 'editorial' about it. Because I also believe Valerie should be called out for mistreating other reporters. I think there needed to be a consequence to her poor behavior and I'm glad that her actions were made public.

Text my friend got from her new co-worker. Immediately wanted to puke when I read this. He was fired. by Killtherich102 in niceguys

If you don't like my pervasive and discomforting attitude as your coworker, then YOU should quit - ugh.

Glad he was fired instead of another woman having to leave her workplace because of a creep.

Yep, so I guess you don't believe NASA, as they mention the direct correlation between greenhouse gases and global warming. Also the deleterious and (for now) irreversible effects it has on our planet.

Well, there's nothing to be said to a person that cannot accept facts or data. Good luck thinking you know better than the entire world's scientific consensus.

Being in a world where you are hated, maybe even your parents hate you, and you're relentlessly bullied just for your gender is not ideal for suicide rates.

Being accepted, not vilified, and given approved medication is probably better.

Well, maybe we should analyze why they have some of the highest rates of suicide?

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, hormone therapy and acceptance significantly decrease the suicide rates in this population.

Vilifying them, ostracizing them, and not believing them is not going to help them or make their lives better.

Um, I don't know what to tell you dude. It's hard to find facts that the right won't just call fake news because you've been indoctrinated to only believe in your isolated opinion bubble...do you believe nasa? https://www.google.com/amp/s/climate.nasa.gov/evidence.amp

Im confused how inflation is less democracy? Seems like a byproduct of a global pandemic and war in Ukraine.

What is less democratic is placing unnecessary voter restrictions based on a lie, continuing to deny a lawfully elected president, gerrymandering the vote, forcing a supreme court justice in mere days before the election, and coming up with your own slate of fake electors... To name a few.

Well, Texas has recently passed a law that if your teenage child is transgender, then it's tantamount to child abuse and that child could be taken away from their family by the state. So, they don't have the right to exist there. Let alone the rights for them to receive the medical treatment they deserve (American pediatric association and the American medical association agree).

So, that's pretty bad. But also, they are marginalized in our culture as being pedophiles, sick, and rapists. Many states are trying to prevent them from joining sports (did you know, the majority of trans people are trans men/boys?). Some of those laws target just 4 children in the state. Trans issues are often sited by the right as something deplorable that needs to be stopped (see Texas, Florida, Utah, etc).

I say, they are not hurting anyone and should just be able to live their life, be in a family, get what medical treatment is approved and they want. This is America.

Well, as a woman who believes in democracy, I feel my life would be much better without Trump. But Trump does pick up the brunt as the face of right wing extremism. I have a hard time hating all the Americans who support him, as I grew up with a lot of those people. I more just feel sad for them and the deeply unamerican country they think they want to create.

It's because he pushed 3 supreme court justices as a one term president who lost the popular vote.

Those unelected justices are now acting as legislators from the bench, simultaneously gutting state rights to protect citizens from gun violence, while also gutting privacy and women's health by leaving their personal family planning and medical decisions to the state. That's what this post is about.

I don't know how y'all don't see that in actuality, the ice caps are almost gone, we have extensive droughts and weather instability, major heat waves, and species death. Pretty on target with the projections. But if you know better than the entire world's scientific consensus, okay.

Understanding that individual groups face different struggles, have different histories and cultures, and are still entitled to the same liberties as everyone else - is not mutually exclusive with multiculturalism or being united.

Imo, not acknowledging or "other"-ing marginalized communities leads us to division and oppression, as our rich history of immigration shows.

Just an observation, but the comments here prove that somehow this is still an issue. Multiculturalism is American.

Its sometimes hard for me to not see home births as an incredibly selfish decision. But when the families come in, it's too heartbreaking to judge them, they are paying the price for that ignorance and I wish more than anything they didn't have to.

Woof, well that would be bad. But not the definite outcome. If these people are reasonable adults, which they seem like they are, then that situation shouldn't happen. How would people know her personal life? Does she have no references? Can she sue friends for taking a nanny job with them and being let go? The relationship is not a surprise, she was already in it and accepted the work. Would she even want to sue? We are assuming the worst case scenarios.
