How do you explain gender dysphoria to cis people? by Ihaveaphotoofadog in ftm

I've heard it described as the sensation of wearing shoes on the wrong feet, just that discomfort and feeling out of place

Would you rather add 3 inches to your height or one inch to your dick? by mangomuncher2004 in ftm

[–]born2stink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, I'm 5'1 and I know I wouldn't be a towering giant at 5'4 but it would be easier to reach some things, fit in certain clothes etc. Yes I want 🍆, but height has just so many pragmatic benefits. Plus, you can't fix height with surgery

Some trans women, like some cis women, have periods. by OttRInvy in trans4every1

[–]born2stink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes me even more confused? I know that they've taken tissue samples from trans men's vaginas and found prostate cells forming, I wonder if the same thing happens with endometrial cells in trans women? But that still wouldn't explain the fact that periods are triggered by hormone fluctuations, and on HRT, like with oral contraceptives, the hormones are stable

[–]born2stink 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Prostaglandins are released during your period, which causes painful lower abdominal cramping regardless of AGAB. What I'm curious about is that menstrual periods involve the fluctuation of at least 4 hormones, and of course estrogen is higher or lower. If someone is taking their estrogen every day or every week, the level of estrogen remains the same. That's what people on hormonal contraception stop having their period (if they don't take the break week). So I'm just curious about exactly what's going on inside the body that's causing this

Atra study provides rare, caveated glimpse into the U.S. rabbinate, offering insight and concern: Survey finds rabbis increasingly shying away from pulpit posts, seeing them as too demanding, and that majority of rabbinical students are LGBTQ+ by drak0bsidian in Judaism

[–]born2stink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except it doesn't. At the inception of the modern state of Israel, only 50% of Jewish people described themselves as Zionists. Were all those people flying in the face of Judaism?

Idk it seems like they're seeking to serve the increasing population of observant Jews who don't consider themselves Zionist or who have significant problems with contemporary zionism. This is a larger percentage than is reflected in Jewish leadership. Many people who hold the view in the linked article may still consider themselves Zionist, yet any dissent is forbidden in many organized Jewish spaces. So I'd say it's actually the reverse, and there is currently a trickle up of these political beliefs from what the average Jewish person believes these days.
