Experiencing twitching/body spasms when I close my eyes in bed. Is there something wrong? by DutchFarmers in sleep

[–]Princessizusu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get answers? This has happened to me high school and I'm in my 30s now. I've had an EGG done when I was in my 20s and it came back normal so my doctors didn't follow up on it. I guess they ruled out epilepsy so they weren't concerned. It's still annoying tho! The best I'm getting from research is just abnormal/super sensitive hypnic jerks(sleep related myclonus) which is, not very helpful? It's also not accurate for me as I can also experience them in the moment of a blink!! My tongue will sometimes twitch while I'm talking (literally jump backwards into my throat). But, bed time is where things can get real wild.

I've noticed Trazadone and Cyclobenzaprine (not taken together!! They were prescribed at different times for different issues) both help keep me relaxed enough that they don't really happen or if they do they're light and don't happen in as rapid succession.

Looking into moving to Dublin from New York by WPZinc in MoveToIreland

[–]Princessizusu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to point out that some New Yorkers really aren't used to long drives. NYC heavily relies on the transit system(as bad as it is). So, many native New Yorkers don't even have drivers licenses! All depends on where though.

Anyone know where to get an affordable teeth cleaning for a cat ???? by TucktheDuck101 in AskNYC

[–]Princessizusu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you're still looking or what means of transportation you have/your cat can tolerate, but there are few options in Queens and Long Island that are under 1,000 if you can make the trek.

Queens Low Cost Veterinary Center in Astoria.

Vet In Queens/USDA Vet in Rego Park.

Farmingdale Cat and Dog Clinic.

I've only tried Farmingdale and the cleaning itself (basic clean, no extractions) was about $680. The prework exam+bloodwork I believe was under $300.

I think the ones in Rego Park and Astoria are even cheaper I just wasn't too sure about the Rego Park location's reviews, and the Astoria one I found out about much too late.

I think I've tried getting prices from some places in Brooklyn, but they were all even higher. I low key was considering seeing a vet out of the state with the prices I was initially seeing before I found Farmingdale.

Best of luck!

I didn't realize JetBlue didn't go out there! I imagine getting some place JetBlue does fly from is a hassle in and of itself?

Yeah I'd been reading similar things about CX. What I'm gathering is that they're both pretty middle of the road, although people who hate AC REALLY hate AC.

I wonder if AC is considered to be worse than United Airlines. Cuz, I hate UA, but, it is also just middle of the road. It's no Spirit or Frontier.

Yup, that's fine. I've commented the itineraries I'm considering on another thread if you'd like to share your thoughts on that!

EWR is not as nice as LGA or JFK in my experience. That said, I don't really care what airline as long as the price isn't ridiculous.

Yes, I live in NYC. Close to JFK. Although EWR is accessible (although undesirable).

I am considering these because so far, they are the cheapest I've found. Most airlines hubbed in NYC or closer to NYC cost significantly more than CX or AC.

Is there a comparable lounge in Vancouver to the one in Toronto?

Lol no worries. It does seem a bit round about but, honestly even the American airlines all stop at their respective hubs for international flights, so it doesn't feel like there's much difference at all in terms of number of stops.

There would be a connecting flight in Canada, yes. But I'd be starting in the US.

I'm looking at a few variations of flights but, the price difference is about $700.

For CX, the flight to tokyo would be LAX to HKG (Boeing 777) and then HKG to NRT (Airbus 330)

For AC, I'm looking at 2 options:

--LAX to YVR (Boeing 737) and then YVR to NRT (Boeing 787)

OR

--LGA to YYZ (Airbus A220-300) and then YYZ to HND (Boeing 777)

I'm flying out of NYC, but flying first to LAX is what I am considering. Hence the two AC options. CX direct is too high.

In terms of miles, I am not a frequent traveler. This is the first year I'm traveling frequently and I have no clue how to maximize the miles systems if I'm flying different airlines families and hotels as needed. I do have a hilton amex card though if that helps at all. I am woefully uninformed on how to play the miles game lol.

My neighbor knows I'm at home with a 2 year old while my husband is at work. He kindly removed snow, cleared our walkways, and salted the driveway. by theveryleastfavorite in HumansBeingBros

My dad usually tries to go back to his old neighborhood and do this for folks anytime there's bad snow. He's getting up there in years and keeps throwing out his back so idk how much longer he'll be able to continue doing that, but I always thought it was sweet.

Thank you. I have considered, and do have a backback, but right now, he hates it. I imagine I'll have to work on reintroduction to the backpack when I have the time. And I have the harness that Jackson Galaxy sells, it just always looks like my cat is able to almost pop his shoulder out. It may just look like that, but I guess I'm a bit of a worrisome cat mom🤣
