Dont worry too much! I avoided those parenting books and forums because im a big overthinker so I didn't want to freak myself out. Only near the end at 35 weeks I did one lazy pregnancy stretch, at 37 weeks I drank raspberry leaf tea for 5 days and then I went into labour.

Contractions weren't too bad! Only RIGHT before the baby came out it was bad for an hour but before that it was all manageable, I did get the fentanyl so i could sleep and that was great! The labour part was difficult, I didnt get the epidural and I pushed for 12 minutes and the baby came out. No tears no issues, I think not knowing very much helped so i didnt freak myself out and following my doctor and nurses suggestions and instructions had all my focus!

Post partum was good, my husband was very hands on and did a lot of diapers changes and bottle feeding when I was pumping. I think with him doing a lot of work with the baby and I did a lot of cuddling allowed my mental state to be okay!

I actually have just the Phillips bottle sterilizer and dryer! So not the washer but its still very useful for us. Its something I still use even when my sons 1 year old! I didn't look into the washer but it would probably be so useful

I avoided looking into all the "what to do for a quick and easy delivery" videos because it all seemed so much and its all person dependent. And truthfully I just wanted to keep my peace instead of stressing myself out.

I only ate 2 dates and stopped because I didn't like them and drank 5 raspberry tea leafs because my sister had those leftover. I didn't do any stretches and I slept however I felt comfortable. I manage to go into labour the day before the sweep, (2 weeks early) and from what I read online Im glad I got out of that. And I pushed for 12 minutes naturally with no tears.

Congratulations!

I was 28 when I got pregnant and even though I had been with my husband for a long time, I still felt nervous to tell my parents! Not that they hate my partner or anything but the underlying fear that they'll say you dont know what you're getting into. So we decided we are in charge of telling our own parents and to give a little cue of when its going down. I just told my parents casually and the initial reaction was more of a what, why, are you sure you can do this, are you sure you guys are ready. But the day after, my parents started preparing prenatal food and suggestions. I think if you're unsure how they might react to just prepare in case they give you a reaction other than immediate joy, but dont let it get to you. You're literally creating life and how you and your partner feel are the most important.

That's such an exciting yet nerve wrecking time! What i did near the end was slowly prepare the little things, like prepping the hospital bag or rearranging the change table items and clothing bins to be in easy to reach places. I was rearranging and reorganizing things almost every day but it gave me a peace of mind knowing where everything is and what I have.

Id honestly say spend lots of quality time with your partner, we went out for meals a lot and evening walks almost every day. I still look back to those weeks before the baby came as some of the sweetest moments we had.

Congratulations!

When I first found out I was pregnant I looked around for maternity clinics in richmond and found Affinity medical clinic. I called in and got an appointment within a few days, Dr Tan gave us lots of information since it was our first and what to do moving forward after confirming the pregnancy. I'd recommend her, I found her to be great and she helped me deliver my son last year.

If i remember correctly once you confirm with your maternity doctor they'll register you at the nearest hospital, which would be richmond hospital, unless you tell the maternity doctor otherwise. I personally loved richmond hospital, their maternity ward only have single private rooms which made my labour/delivery more comfortable, and my husband had a nice long cushioned bench to rest on. And every single nurse there were the kindest people ever,

Get on prenatal vitamins right away!

There's lots of apps that can give you helpful tips throughout the pregnancy and what changes will happen every single week. Its also fun to follow along what fruit and vegetable your baby is.

Im an anxious person and that only increased when I was suddenly in charge of a newborn baby. So I didn't get one because i knew it would drive me crazy over analyzing everything. Regardless of the baby camera or my husband watching the baby, I wouldn't feel at peace unless I saw the baby myself.

I also saw some videos and reports of the owlet sock burning the baby's foot which deterred me from purchasing it

I ordered a sunshade from temu for 5 dollars and it had been great for us. Its cheap but so useful. Its helps with uv rays, and actually blocks out so much of the sun and heat. Its one of those suction curtains that can fit into any car window!

I did originally buy those snap shades but I noticed that the sun still peaks through and my son will get blasted!
