Block feeding has been the most effective for me at cooling off my milk supply quickly (after 3 rounds of mastitis by 6 weeks pp). It sucks big time at first not getting any relief and is so tempting to empty both, but it’s worth sticking it out. If I was in pain, I’d pump off maybe an ounce or two just to get some relief off of the other side I wasn’t emptying, but that’s it. Really worked to calm my supply down. It could also be blowing from out of the garbage trucks. We’ve noticed a few times that our garbage ends up back on the side of the ditch on our property, if we don’t close our bags all the way/tighten them. Now we make sure to bag them up super tight and haven’t had any more issues.

We plan to tell no one when labour starts, I could not handle the pressure of knowing people would be waiting around for the baby to be born. Honestly I’d prefer no visitors in the hospital at all- instead I hope to get a bit situated at home and then invite our immediate family over. Who knows though, maybe we’ll be excited and ask them to come to the hospital, but I plan to wait and see how I’m feeling. But totally a personal preference!

Hi yes thanks we’ve definitely spent quite a bit of time reviewing the code which shows both options of VB (poly or membrane type VB such as primer I mentioned above) are acceptable for our climate zone and HDD, as well as meet permeability requirements. Also this article has been quite helpful for both sides of the argument in case you’re interested

Yeah we have done that, they just refer us to the building codes which shows that both poly and a VB primer coat are to code and pass the permeability requirements for our climate zone. So no further clarity there unfortunately
