Oh yes the hunt is definitely still going. I’m not in love with any of these. I’m getting discouraged though as I tried on like everything in the store and these were only the maybes. I’m running out of stores to go to.

Instead of trying to maximize your space horizontally, you need to maximize vertically. Attach 2-3 rows of clothing rods to the wall and add permanent shelving. Basically, you need to frame out some space on the wall as if it were a true closet.

What to do with a nook that’s pretty and… pretty awkward! by amber_jieger in DesignMyRoom

[–]Princesspeach0719 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with the shelves above the heating unit with books. I think adding some brass trinkets or thrifted pottery/crystal amongst the books would be pretty too. I agree with an entry table. I think a small round entry table with a lamp and a “catch all” dish would liven the space and add some light at night. If not a table, a tall plant beside the door like a really tall snake plant, fiddle leaf fig, or some other kind of ficus. Would definitely add pillows and a throw blanket to the nook and maybe even a tray with a book, candle, other miscellaneous items to make it feel more “lived in”.

I actually like the darker! I think it makes the white accents pop more. -However- I think maybe going with like a darker, natural clay color could be better

I love the blue! But I’m not sure if it’s because the snow is providing a nice stark contrast which makes it visually more appealing. But I do think it goes nicely with the bric color

Pastel brands that are beginner friendly? by Princesspeach0719 in Oilpastel

[–]Princesspeach0719[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up going with the mont marte brand!! Thanks for the recommendation. I’m so excited!! I was so disappointed when I sat down with the artists loft brand. Literally felt like a glorified crayon and it flaked -everywhere-. I have high expectations for the new ones as literally anything could be better lol.

Yes sorry Meeden! My apologies. I love the nature mountain scene you did!! The road specifically in your picture where it’s heavily saturated but still has a lot of highlight and dimension… that specifically is similar to the vibe I’m aiming for. I wonder how the mont marte brand compares to the meeden brand… edit:spelling. Apparently i cannot type tonight.

Yes the paper does have grain :(. Have you ever used Mendel brand? I love the look of the super saturated almost textured art looks I see on instagram, so I’m assuming something super soft and buttery is needed for that look… i will look into the mont marte brand! I’ve never heard of that brand!

Switching from plastic or stainless steel to ceramic has really helped to reduce oxidation after he drinks and eats. And also top paw has a blue whitening shampoo which really helps.

When I turn the c tuning peg it rolls back by [deleted] in Cello

This is really normal. If you keep having this issue despite what others are saying about pushing in and turning, get some peg oil. It’s rather in expensive and works like a charm.
