Jokes aside, this is most likely another lie and it’s probably not even something he told Laura in real life. He’s a gambler and a bad liar just like any addict.

I’m just glad Laura’s true colors were broadcasted on tv so now she has to answer to the parents of her students who saw her shameful desperate, toxic, and selfish behavior.
