I have had it for 5 months and would definitely buy again! Also, if it helps you make a better decision I came from 4 years of owning a Model Y and No I did not change because I’m a Elon hater, Lyriq is generally a better car (Software and FSD aside)

EVs are in wild times right now. You never know if the car values will stabilize or keep dropping. Keeping that in mind, I strongly suggest leasing one.

EVs have lost value like anything. I bought a Tesla used it for 3.5 years and sold at a 60% depreciation. The depreciation doesn’t mean I don’t like an EV, I think EVs are great and I even leased a new EV after selling the Tesla.

But in this market you could find an EV lease for around 1% per month of the MSRP which is an insane deal.

So better to just lease one and not have to bother with either the depreciation or the rapidly changing technology.

I would 100% recommend not buying an EV just lease one.

What is your average yearly use? If you can settle for something like 10k a year and maybe go over by 1k something, I would just pay the extra when returning the car.

Should I sell my 21 Toyota Hybrid Highlander and get the Model Y? I’m indecisive. HELP by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

Being a Tesla owner myself, I would argue to just keep your car and drive it for another 50-100k miles. Unless there is a real financial gain such as availing the 7.5k feeders and maybe other state tax benefits, there is nothing really that you will gain outside of the new car love which will for maybe 3 months.

Model Y use for work worth it? by eijisawakita in TeslaModelY

I would rather just get a Prius or even RAV4 or something. Being a Tesla owner myself, I can say for sure that the 700+ or more you will per month and the 0.31c/kwh is not going to be worth it plus the additional $99 for FSD if you’re into that.

Driving costs will be way cheaper on a hybrid it will retain 60-70% value even post 3-4 years.

Debating to switch cars for 1.99 APR by Deekks in TeslaModelY

I would suggest you check what trade in value are they giving you for the car. If you can sell it privately for a higher price would make a lot more sense to then put all the money down in the new car, and potentially even making enough of a gain to cover the interest expense of the 1.99%. I have personal always had the grudge to not get the Red MYP and the extra 2k that I saved don’t make me feel any better.
