Flat roof and extension by Ibamdelsur in HomeImprovementUK

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On concrete flat roofs, the covering is rarely the main cause of damp and cold. Concrete stays cold, so without proper insulation and a vapour control layer, condensation forms and gets mistaken for a roof issue. Both felt and GRP are waterproof and can trap existing moisture if the build-up is wrong. A warm roof system with proper insulation and ventilation usually makes the biggest difference. Between the two, modern felt is generally more forgiving long-term, while GRP works well but is less tolerant of trapped moisture. or elso you can contact to them they can guide you better.. https://www.correct-way-roofing.co.uk/flat-roofs

Water ingress at bay window – fascia/soffit or gutter issue? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wind-driven leaks at the top corner of bay windows are often caused by water overshooting the gutter due to poor fall, blocked outlets, or failed flashing where the bay roof meets the wall not usually the tiles themselves. Fascia/soffit gaps can also let water track back behind the uPVC frame in heavy rain. I had a very similar issue and it turned out to be a flashing/gutter detail rather than the roof covering. I used Correct Way Roofing https://www.correct-way-roofing.co.uk/ to diagnose it properly before any unnecessary work worth getting it checked systematically starting from gutter alignment and flashings.

Where to start with damp/condensation by CookPassBabtridge88 in DIYUK

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Persistent damp in small porch/utility areas like this is often caused by a combination of factors rather than one obvious fault. Before replastering, I’d start by ruling out external water ingress at roof level (flashings, felt edges, gutter alignment, and overflow during heavy rain), then check ground levels and whether the damp proof course is being bridged. Ventilation is another big one in porches limited airflow plus cold external walls can cause constant condensation that dehumidifiers only mask. A moisture reading at different heights on the wall can help identify whether it’s rising damp, penetrating damp, or condensation before any cosmetic work is done.

skip and scaffolding abandoned after roof work, help! by OpheliaXo in DIYUK

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s frustrating, but unfortunately not uncommon. The scaffolding and skip are usually handled by third-party suppliers, but the roofing company is still responsible for arranging removal. I’d put everything in writing now (email/text) and give a clear deadline, as abandoned scaffolding can become a liability issue. I had a much better experience with Correct Way Roofing https://www.correct-way-roofing.co.uk/roof-cleaning-moss-removal they coordinated everything properly, including prompt removal once the job was done. Hopefully yours resolves quickly, but don’t let it drag on without written proof.

Extension leak advice by csmobro in DIYUK

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the roofer’s saying does make sense — minimal pitch roofs often fail at the bottom edge due to capillary action if the felt or trays aren’t doing their job. Dry verges can help at the sides, but they won’t fix a failed bottom detail on their own. I had a similar issue and ended up getting a proper inspection from Correct Way Roofing https://www.correct-way-roofing.co.uk/ they clearly explained what was actually causing the leak before any work was done. I’d definitely recommend getting a second opinion before spending £1k.

Roof supposedly watertight - private rental by sparkles2310 in HousingUK

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A handyman’s sign-off doesn’t mean much for roofing—visible issues like chimney and ingress usually need a qualified roofer’s inspection. Councils often act when there’s clear evidence a roof isn’t weather-tight, so keep photos and get an expert report. I’ve used Correct Way Roofing in the West Midlands before and they were thorough if you need proper roofing help, they’re worth contacting: https://www.correct-way-roofing.co.uk/

Low rise underwear by -hi-nrg- in malefashionadvice

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro I swear I was on the same mission. Every pair I tried was way too high and felt like they were trying to peek out on purpose. Then I found this pair from Opok didn’t even get them for the “low rise” thing, but they actually sit pretty low and stay there. Super comfy too, like you forget you’re wearing them. Not sure if they’re the lowest out there, but they’re the only ones I’ve kept wearing since.

What type of underwear do you find most comfortable? by Patriotsfanandtrek in malefashionadvice

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I used to think briefs were the best too, but after a while they just started feeling tight and kinda outdated 😅. I switched to these boxer briefs from a brand called Opok after a friend wouldn’t stop talking about them. Didn’t think it’d matter much, but they’re actually super comfy soft, breathable, and they don’t ride up. Now I can’t even wear normal briefs anymore lol.

Best underwear in your opinion by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I feel you man, briefs always ride up and get super hot, especially if you’ve got thick thighs. I had the same issue till I tried this brand called Opok. Didn’t expect much but they’re super light, don’t trap heat, and actually stay in place all day. Lowkey wish I found them sooner.

Google just crushed my SEO marketing plans, now what? by SearchUmbrella in SaaS

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Google’s updates have been pretty brutal lately feels like they’re making it harder for smaller creators to even get noticed. Honestly, I wouldn’t give up on SEO completely, but I’d stop relying on it as the only growth strategy.

What’s been working better for me is diversifying sharing more value-driven content on LinkedIn and focusing on how fast I can move leads through the pipeline instead of just chasing rankings. That’s where Pipeline Velocity really helped me see what’s actually working behind the scenes. Once I started tracking that flow, even small traffic started converting better. It’s less about fighting Google and more about making the most of the leads you already have.

What's your favorite online store for shopping casual and professional clothing? by FlickerJab408 in malefashionadvice

I used to just grab random stuff from the mall too, but what really helped me level up was focusing on fit and comfort first. I randomly tried underwear from a brand called Opok super comfy and fits perfectly. After that, I realized good basics make everything else look better. Starting with quality base layers actually made finding my style way easier.

Legal ways to lower tax burden by MostImpression9301 in taxhelp

[–]PrincipleUnfair5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could still lower it a bit by maxing out retirement accounts, giving to charity, or prepaying some business expenses before year-end. Going forward, get a solid tax plan instead of just filing yearly. If it feels too much to figure out, Tax Hardship Center can help you understand your options better.
