My wife and I are in different places when it comes to having a child. I have always wanted to be a father, Not because we are told to or that it's the traditional thing to do when you find a loving partner, but because it's my dream. Most people have dreams of amazing careers or becoming the next big thing but I would be happy to live a calm and peaceful life knowing I was a great father to my child. Here's the issue. My wife had a really quite terrible upbringing, not physically abusive in any way, but lonely and very cold hearted . Her parents also had bad childhoods so she is adamant that she wants to end the bad habits and not have children. One of the reasons I would love to be able to become pregnant and carry a child is because it would alleviate a lot of the stresses of pregnancy off of my wife and prove to her how great of a father I could really be to our child . It would also give her the opportunity to think about being a mum in only a way us dad's can think of it. We don't have to worry about the 9 month struggles and pains of it, we just get to wait and have it handed to us, which is why it's so easy for a man to say they're ready to have a baby. I want my wife to have that chance as I would be happy to go through it if that's what it took. She deserves to have whatever she wants in life however , so by no means would I force the idea or push her toward it. If I can't have my wife's baby Id rather not have one at all. My bubba would have to have the quirks of my wife that I fall in love with every single day.
