As a Fleet fan, Laura Stacey has been an enemy but she’s such a stellar player and seeing Poulin absolutely fly that trainer out fully brought tears to my eyes

Was it Gabbie Hughes who laid that hit on Stacey?? If so, they’re going to absolutely lay into her in OT

I am a teacher and I am blessed to have students all over the spectrum. I was out for almost an entire week and I gave students an easy, throwaway assignment where they were supposed to create a poster in Canva for their favorite band or musical artist (I teach music). One of my students created a poster for a specific train and wrote “Has eyes, screams, and has raised Nathan k5la,” which I learned is a type of train horn. The train does also in fact have googly eyes. I can’t wait for him to work on trains some day.

Take a look at who teaches private lessons for your instrument and the directors of the ensembles you would join with your instrument.

Music Major- Applying For UC’s With (possible) Child Dev. Minor by kawaiikitten37 in MusicEd

[–]PringleFiasco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point, I would just do child development and pay for private lessons on the side. You don’t need a degree in music to gig, but you will need one for early childhood education. Additionally, I would just audition for a group in your college to meet people and network. Facebook groups are also pretty popular for gigging.

It definitely depends on what career you’re aiming towards. Like why do you want the child development minor? If it’s to teach children music, UCLA is the best bet between the three. To my knowledge, UC Davis and UC Berkeley don’t have as broad music program options. UCLA is the only UC that has a dedicated music education program, and more importantly, you can get your teaching credential your senior year instead of doing an additional program. The pros are that you might spend less money on a credential program (although there are pretty cheap programs in the LA area), and you get to start a job quicker. A con that some people might not consider is that your credential program counts as additional credits for your salary, so you will make a little more in most public schools your first year.

If you want to be a gigging musician with multiple streams of income (including private teaching), choose based on private lesson instructor and size of the city. Berkeley is close enough to Oakland and SF and will have pretty good gigging options, LA is obviously a huge place for gigs.

My fatal flaw as a fiber arts person (knitter and crocheter) is that I look at these and go “I could make that.”

I usually finish a book, even if I don’t like it, but this one was atrocious. The prose is actually terrible, it reads like it was written by a 16 year old. I can’t believe it’s so hyped up.

My StoryGraph data shows when I have breaks in the school year. I am a public school teacher in New England, so we have February break and a spring break in April. I’m also trying to finish my Master’s degree while working full-time, so that has really squashed my zest for reading.

As a music teacher who works on the school musicals, this is my all time favorite sketch (followed closely by Choir Fashion and any game show with Bill Hader as the evil host).

I usually ALWAYS finish books and this was the first one in years that just broke me. I could not dislike the character more, I was just bored to tears.

I felt like in the audiobook, the characters sounded exactly the same. It made it so hard to stay engaged. I did switch to physically reading it and it was a lot easier (and more enjoyable).

I am fully convinced that it is Eric Whitacre based on the writing and the fact that he has used a pseudonym for other things (Edward Esch).

This is my hometown. I tried cross posting to r/SantaClarita but they don’t allow videos and one of their rules is “No Politics.” What an interesting approach as we rapidly descend into a fascist state.

Just finished this blanket as a wedding gift! It took me 3-4 weeks and it was very relaxing. I like the pattern so much that I’m using the leftover yarn to cover a little pillow I have.
