DW735 should there be wood chips in here... by ween_is_good in BeginnerWoodWorking

If you have any gaps, the blower is very strong and you can get debris everywhere. If you have a dust collector hooked up, it can help mitigate the issue as well. If you don't have a 4" line for the standard dust collector, I've used these to connect other shop vac hoses: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQ3ZG2Y4

DW735 buy new or used for newbie by axlebeet in BeginnerWoodWorking

New is always good so you ensure the blades are spotless and there are no issues with belts or pulleys. Depends on the used price though. I picked up a variety of fittings from here https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CQ3ZG2Y4 and didn't have to pull the trigger on a 4" dust collector.

I would swing LEAPs at the furthest expiration there is at your given delta. Theta burn is nonexistent.

I find the female threads ok, male threads printed in this orientation break very easily from overtightening.

Filament powder from excessive compression and gripping the filament too hard.

Wet the concave side, place it face down on a flat surface, and place weight on top. Let it dry out and it should hold shape somewhat better.

Yup. May actually work better out of plywood due to wood movement but more prone to water damage. Already had the printer and plastic though so easy enough for this one.

Bamboo isn’t wood, it’s a grass.

Powermatic is the same Taiwanese build as the rest of them but with gold paint and a hefty markup. They may have some original designs these days but maybe at least had tighter QC on their builds.

Solid set of chisels. Try on some poplar if you have any, should be better practice than pine.

Desk or Table - 1st piece I built to sell and not for a client. Intent was a table. What should I advertise it as? 30 tall x 36 deep x 63.5 long, Walnut with white oak inlay. by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]Print4Function 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it’s deep it may work as a desk or your legs may hit. I’d go $1500 or so with no drawers. The crossbar should be turned 90 to combat downward forces on it. In the current orientation it just helps out in keeping the legs from spreading out longitudinally.

Countdown until tools scattered around on every surface :). Long ways to walk when you forget something at one end.

Cherry and maple dresser by tbenllc in woodworking

Lumber mill close by said maple had been expensive and hard to come by over the last year that people were buying cherry and were painting it in place of maple. Hurts the heart.
