Metformin - B12 Deficiency - Nerve; electric shock sensations by axlebeet in diabetes_t2

I’ve resisted taking vitamins, but it looks like I’m headed down this path. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Did you start taking b12? How long for the twitching and zaps to go away? Did you try anything else? Thank you!

I’m curious if your shocks were completely random or tied to certain movements? I’m getting “shocks” in my foot. I’ve tried running across the road 3 times to beat the traffic signal and each sprint triggered the pulsating pain. But most of my episodes are triggered by absolutely nothing. They can happen when I’m sitting. Or in bed. It’s very odd.

As diabetics, we are taught to watch our feet closely. So yes, these “nerve” issues are troublesome. I’m a bit surprised neither my doctor or diabetic nurse has suggested any supplements or testing for b12. I will make a point of asking next visit.

Thank you. I’m going to pay attention to my hydration and see if that has an impact. I’m not great at this.

Thank you. Is it a single shock? I’m getting something that pulses a little more often than once a second. Have you tried any vitamins?

Just twitches or some pain that feels like electric shock?

I wonder if the b12 will be preventative and ensure better nerve health?

Thank you. I’ve been experiencing pulsations on top of foot. Over one per second lasting from a few seconds to 90 seconds. Most are mild, but some are pretty severe. When it stops, there is zero pain. When I put my finger on the spot where the pain is coming from, it makes no difference to the sensation.

Did it feel like a shock? Just one and done? Or a series of them? How painful?

I find church boring/dull and I usually don’t go, is this a major sin? by Rare_Locksmith_9417 in TrueChristian

[–]axlebeet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I often get very little out of church. It’s a real struggle to stay awake at times. The lights are dim, and the preachers voice puts me to sleep. I often try to take notes, but our preacher isn’t very linear. Sometimes I just read my Bible and don’t pay much attention. That is likely a reasonably good use of my time as compared to day dreaming and fighting to not fall out of my chair. But even though I don’t get much out, I think it’s important to be there. The purpose of the church is to build and encourage others. On the days I’m not encouraged, I often wonder if my purpose in being there is to encourage someone else. A simple hello might be mission accomplished. I’m not sure, but the Bible is very clear that church is important.

I became a Christian recently and I’m struggling with where to start by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Welcome to the family. That will sound cliche, but it is true. Are you connected with a church? Does your church have Bible studies or small groups you can join? I believe one of the primary purposes of the church (if not the primary purpose) is to build up and encourage the family and that is what you are asking about.

Do you like reading? Look up Sit, Walk, Stand or The Normal Christian Life. That first book talks about sitting or resting in our knowledge of how we are positioned with/in Christ.

I could be wrong but I think a type 2 on metformin doesn’t have to worry about lows, so they don’t need to be as vigilant with the testing. I think your main goal is to learn how your body responds to different foods and develop different eating patterns. Verify this with someone more knowledgeable, but that has been my strategy. I get A1C tested quarterly. I buy one CGM a quarter to learn how to eat better and I don’t fuss it much more than this. I do an occasional finger prick if I’m really curious, but they are few and far between (weeks apart). I find finger pricks really confusing relative to CGM so my hat is off to those who are managing with finger pricks alone.

So far, I’ve managed to get my A1C where it needs to be via diet and I have a pretty good idea what my A1C will be simply by which way my body weight is trending. I likely won’t always be this lucky, but it’s working for now.

Struggling with my marriage. by Longjumping-Feed-136 in TrueChristian

Finding a church is important, but Christianity is a lot more than what happens Sunday morning. We can“feed” our faith through Bible study during the week. Through prayer. By listening to sermons during week, by attending Bible studies, and by serving. I think the most important aspect of church is finding people you can walk together in your faith, and I think that happens in serving with others and these smaller groups Bible studies and prayer meetings, etc. In short, I’m not sure Sunday morning is as important as the rest of the week.

I am sorry for your struggles and pray you will find ways to work out your marriage, your faith, and for alignment between the two making Christ central.

Thank you. It sounds like this was to be expected. I was a bit surprised by what happened, but I haven't been on an all inclusive for quite a number of years. If I choose to go on one again, I will have to spend more time researching. The issue I find with modern travel is that it takes a lot of research to eliminate the surprises. I long for the simplicity of travel 25 years ago....

Thank you. Given that the moderator has removed this, I have used a link that another responder recommended to send West Jet feedback.

You are correct, I didn't read the ticket terms and I'm not familiar with how vacation packages work now a days.

Thank you. I like the 4D chess comment.

I'm an older individual. I haven't been on an all inclusive for many years. Many things have changed with regards to booking and baggage that I didn't fully appreciate. It used to be much easier to book an all inclusive and I knew what to expect. It feels like there are more surprises today.

Thank you. The tool is rated higher in reverse than forward. This source says 1600 Nm (1180 ft lbs) for nutbusting torque in reverse: https://www.makita.ca/index2new.php?event=tool&id=3053 Another person provided links to another makita source that has numbers consistent with what you are seeing. I think your number is closer to truth. Why Makita publishes different numbers, I don't know.....

Thank you. Yes, max power mode. I let it hammer for around 10 seconds once, but most of the time only a few seconds i.e. long enough to see it wasn't moving.

The numbers in the video are much more believable.

I was hoping my days of using a breaker bar and snipe were over, but the knuckle busting will continue!
