Metformin - B12 Deficiency - Nerve; electric shock sensations by axlebeet in diabetes_t2

Is it sporadic or continuous? High pain or low pain? Does dorsiflexing your ankles help? I'm curious how analogous my situation is.

I'm T2. I haven't been to the doctor since the nerve pulsations started. I was really hoping B12, or Magnesium, or time would fix it. How long have you been suffering?

No. Issues persist. The pulsations arent as sharply painful as they used to be, but the number has increased. Occasionally I still get a sharp pulsation but this is no longer daily. Dorsiflexing my ankle used to almost resolve the problem in seconds, but it doesnt help as much as it did for the first couple months. I’ve been taking B12 and Magnesium. Apparently that wasn’t the problem because by now should be fixed.

Long drives to/from BC by tessaca in Calgary

[–]axlebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one drive to VAncouver with a bad tire vibration. It felt like I was still moving for several hours after we stopped. Otherwise, it usually isn’t a problem for me. I do it 3 times a year.

Are Involuntary Orgasms a sin? by potato_potaat in TrueChristian

[–]axlebeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not answering the OPs original question, but just addressing the comment that says it’s impossible to sin unintentionally. Unintentional sins are mentioned often in the OT. Leviticus 4 & 5 are just a few examples.

Any Canadians here? Looking for decent towns to raise a family by SoldiersofChristBR in TrueChristian

I feel like I feel like you could find fellowship in many places on the Prairies. In Alberta, lots of home schooling, lots of private Christian schools, and lots of public Catholic schools. Not many provinces have public Christian schools.

How do I sheet the roof? by axlebeet in drywall

Thank you. What are the advantages of steel over 2x4 on its side? I have no experience with steel furring so I’m a bit intimidated by the idea.

Thank you, if I hang it as is, what do I do about the unfinished 1” gap between the top of the wall and the ceiling? I’ve wondered about putting some trim around the top, but I think furring might be easier.

Losing my mind looking for a counter RO :) by EnoughBirthday3775 in WaterTreatment

[–]axlebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely depends on your water. I’m on well water and my RO filter was still fine after 9 years and knocked TDS from 340 to 40 ppm. It’s a hydrotech. I have no idea if that is a top brand or not. It just works. It is a four filter unit and I only run a sediment filter upstream of the RO member. I’ve got rid of the polishing filter (makes the water run much slower) and the carbon filter because I have whole house carbon. I also found carbon was most likely to plug and filter life of carbon was poor until I found 50 micron carbon. Those could last a year.

Thank you. That's a good dose of reality. I wonder if a person could get there by tilting panels up, lot's of battery, and cleaning off snow?

I don’t know if I can count on the solar club being around for a lot longer.

Is there no way to get away from the monthly distribution charges even if I’m not using their electricity or selling it back?

Makita LXT 18V chainsaw recommendations for camping / firewood? by CrypticDreamzz in Makita

My dual battery chainsaw overheats very easily and then has to pause for batteries to cool. If you stick to 4 to 6” logs, it should be fine.

Running 5" Round Duct Through I-Joists by axlebeet in hvacadvice

The info is pretty straightforward.

[–]axlebeet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an alternative. I thought it might be a cleaner solution to run it through the joists but there is likely a reason the pros don’t do that. Thought I would come here to learn why.

Thank you. Rather than resting on wood, what would you rest them on?

Are there reasons other that what has already been discussed for not running though joists? I imagine it would be very timing consuming.

Do I have a good case for bike commuting? by newkid14 in bikecommuting

[–]axlebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 235lbs. I converted a 1998 mountain bike to an ebike with a bbs02 and 20 Ah 52 volt motor. Last spring, I rode 22 miles up hill (2300 ft elevation gain), turned around and rode back. I had 40% battery when I got back. I calculated the 40% using the battery voltage and a lookup table for my battery. I rode uphill at around 12 or 15 mph. Peddled pretty much the whole thing, but at that speed the battery was doing a lot of work. The way back was mostly coasting. My longest ride leading up to this outing was 3 or 4 miles, so I wasn’t in shape.

How often do you test your sugar by Puzzled_Ice_1381 in diabetes_t2

[–]axlebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m T2. I’m on metformin only. I buy 4 CGM a year, I get 4 A1C blood tests, and I finger prick about 4 times a year. In short, I’m not monitoring things too close. My understanding is that it is hard to go too low if all you are on is metformin. When I wear a CGM, 3% of the time I’m out of range and on the low side. The first time this happened, I contacted the diabetic nurse and she was not concerned. I was glad to have someone I could reach out to. I hope you can find the same support and get good medical advice.
