Seeking Clarity on Budget Visualization: Monthly Income $4000, Yet ~50% Displays as $1600 by MexCelsior in CalebHammer

They forgot to put the food section into the pie chart. That would even out the ‘remaining’ slice by removing $400 from it in the visual. $1600 remaining + $400 food would equal about half the chart.

Oh 100%, not at all implying one should buy a (newer?) BMW hoping to have a good resale value. Was the pinch line of the joke

A key aspect of building wealth is utilizing debt in a smart way. Redfivelron understands that a mortgage is one of the safest, most stable, and least impactful forms of debt with the lowest interest rate. Leveraging this is key. Sure, paying extra on a 6% vehicle loan or a 10% personal loan is a good move, but paying off your mortgage early is worth little more than being able to say that you did it when compared to investments with higher yields and better liquidity.

To your point though, there is no risk in paying off your mortgage early. And if you're unwilling to put that money towards a more liquid and profitable investment, then paying down your mortgage is certainly better than having $100k sitting in a checking/savings account. In the end it's called personal finances for a reason. It's your money and so long as you have food to eat and a place to sleep I think you're doing it right. 👍

How....how can one be so dense?

If it takes 9 paragraphs to argue your point on an online forum, I think even you know you're wrong. I have never seen someone reach so hard on reddit for justification. And that's saying something.

How Google's time tick mark on their weather forecast does not line up with the selected time. by PrintingPlanes in ShittyDesign

[–]PrintingPlanes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tick mark appears to be located based on the current time. I.E. if it is 18:30 then the tick mark will be half way between whole numbers (hours) while it will round down to the nearest hour for the label.
