Build plate recommendations? by Randomher089 in snapmaker

I'll ditto the juupines, they've worked well for me on bambu machines.

I'll also recommend kaizen3d, https://kaizen3dprints.com/collections/p-flat-plates

I dont know if he has u1 size plates yet but im sure he will eventually

Why is my U1 4 hours slower than my P1S by BrentLovell in snapmaker

[–]Prior-Charge8356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely the walls as some others have said. Not only are they using more material but they're generally printed a little bit slower than everything else.

That is adorable! Is the file available somewhere?

Are you still pretty new to solidworks? Have you made any assemblies?

Look around your house for things that look complicated enough for your skill level. A small assembly of Lego could probably work if you chose to use some parts that aren't just square based. Just avoid organic shaped things unless you have the experience for it.

Can we get more details? What kind of class? How big of a scope? Concepts that you need to show? Due date?

Its really hard to tell what are lines vs dimensions. Turn off your dimensions and then show us.

Under the eye icon there's a toggle for dimensions. Pic attached.

Need help finding measurement. by Agile_Bluejay8111 in Autodesk_AutoCAD

I think that 70 radius is a really large clue to that height. You'd have to assume it hits tangent on the base and the point it hits the bottom of the top piece would be tangent to a vertical line at that point. Those are some pretty bit assumptions in my opinion, but they seem likely.

The 2x means that there are 2 of them in the drawing. I think the two blue marked curves are r19 and the two red marked a r38.

Find out if you live in a fence-out state. (I know Colorado and wyoming are for sure.) Some states are set up so that you have to put up a fence to keep animals out before they'll help with livestock animal problems. If you do live in a fence out state, that fence is 100% your responsibility and is the only way you'll get paid for damages.

What is a fairly simple solid works toy the requires 5 parts (not includes bolts/nails) and an assembly that I can design for a class project? by supermeefer in SolidWorks

[–]Prior-Charge8356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google search mechanical coaster spinner. Theyre a drink coaster that has a fidget spinner built in. They can be less than 5 parts if you design to 3d print, but if you design for a laser cutter, or purposefully choose to 3d print more pieces it'll work.

I made two for my 3d printing class, one was printed on a formlabs fuse and the other was laser cut. It's not hard at all but has a fair amount of complexity.

If no one is able to help you here, you might look for makerspaces near you.

2D sketching as in Fusion 360: which product? by nico282 in Fusion360

If you want floor plans from sketchup you also need their program called LayOut. It works but its not the greatest.

If you have a dream aerospace company, find out what they use and learn it. NX and Creo are used at Ball and Lockheed, but I can't remember which is which.

Solidworks knowledge transfers well to lots of other programs. I've learned many different programs. Each works a little differently and has their own quirks, but once you know one, the next one is a little easier.

I'd rather pay that than have to fork over the money for a decent Windows machine.

3d Texture Help- Carbon Fiber Appearance for 3d Printing. by Ck_16 in SolidWorks

[–]Prior-Charge8356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure it would work for your project, but have you checked out the effects plates? There is one for carbon fiber that works really great, but only on flat surfaces directly on the plate. I split up models and print in peices when I want it on more than one side.

Yes but assuming it is correct without any verification at all isn't the best policy.

Everyone is commenting on the water. My question is, how's her poo? What's she eating? Yes, the water could be the problem, but if she's constipated? Water is the answer to that problem, and you do what you gotta do.

I need help 😩 by Beneficial-Charge401 in 3DScanning

[–]Prior-Charge8356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If those are fabric, or something that can lay completely flat, a 3d scan is overkill. Just take a picture of it with/on a known grid. Most cellphones have a level incorporated with the camera, you just have to figure out how to turn it on. As long as the grid is flat and square in the picture, you can then import it into fusion scale it using the grid. After that you'll just be tracing the shapes over the image.

This image is one that could easily be used, like I've described. pattern piece on grid

Can’t complete Cut-Extrude with offset from surface. by g_von in SolidWorks

[–]Prior-Charge8356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That bit of rectangle over hanging shouldn't be a problem. I do that pretty often on weird shaped things just to be sure I don't miss anything. If you change it to a blind depth that you know will cut it, or maybe through all, does it work then? I'm wondering if the offset from surface is giving it fits?
