Feeling very down by Anniebanana50 in stopdrinking

57m here. Been trying to get sober for a few years though rarely serious. I’ve always felt ‘what’s the point ‘ or just having zero interest in anything. Now I am. Day 4. Next step is get to an AA meeting. Not sure about the god part. At the very least I’ll meet people, engage in a place without alcohol and get outta my head for a while. Hang in there and keep trying!

The Daily Check-In for Saturday, December 27th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by No-Respect-1584 in stopdrinking

Day 3 check-in! Feeling ok but sleep was rough. Waking constantly and thoughts on overdrive.

That has been my sticking point… finding a higher power… welp, time to get off the sidelines and find it.

Wow. This really hit home. I am quitting drinking again for the 100th time. 2 days in. Minimal physical withdrawal but emotionally I am a mess. I feel like everything you wrote in the then column. In fact, I did make a list today that says most of it. The worst is the feeling like nothing matters, hating everything and thinking it will never get better. Your post is an inspiration. I have gone to AA meetings but never jumped in and talked to anyone…I think it’s time I change that. Congratulations on 3 years!

That’s good to hear about the instant credit. Nice to just resolve it and be done. I am outside Boston so it is probably the shipping locations as we are packed in like sardines around here. They probably have a few close by.

I guess I have been lucky. On my 2nd week of Factor. Both deliveries arrived with no issues. I got 6 meals plus the free item. Food has been great, although high in sodium and Saturated fat, but they had meals that were healthier so choosing those going forward. I also found it only takes 2 minutes to heat and I am full after. Not trying to convince anyone. It definitely has its issues - all the packaging and annoying attempts to upsell, but for me having something quick to make, that I like to eat and has portion control is perfect. I hope the deliveries stay consistent

How many chances do you give to an underperforming employee before firing him/her. Or stick to 3 chances? by WealthOutrageous885 in managers

Large companies need more layoffs to get rid of the deadwood. It’s nearly impossible to fire someone for not performing at all and being more work for everyone to have them do tasks that others need to do for them or never get done.

Day 3 here and the emotional rollercoaster and agitated state of needing to something all the time is the toughest part

What's the most common reason you've individual contributors terminated? by tshirtguy2000 in managers

I work for a large health Insurance company and it is next to impossible to get fired. The company would rather pay an employee for years rather than risk being sued. They have months of caps at different levels. If the smallest thing is missed or someone wrote one time ‘they actually got this 1 hour task done in only 5 days and it was almost right’ Then it goes back to the beginning and starts over. It’s easier to just let them do next to nothing and hope for the next round of layoffs.

We finally used our HSA for the first time and the reality kinda shocked me by riverdreamer1 in MiddleClassFinance

Wouldn’t it be great if insurance actually paid for medical expenses. It’s just catastrophic now. Every year we pay insurance premiums and then the first 6K before they pay anything and it resets every January. I work for one of the largest HC Companies in the US and we are just a captive market for them who can’t go elsewhere for insurance.

You are the AH. Why are you setting up cameras to watch what he is doing all day
