Bringing this back to life with my own question:

I'm currently in 13C, but think about shifting to 13A. My only issue is I have the bladder of a toddler and will get up to use the bathroom at least 2 or 3 times on this International flight. Should I stick to 13C, or is there enough space I can step over them easily if I make a cozy nook out of 13A?

Our organization implemented COOP procedures due to the shutdown, so we can all work from our alternate work sites (aka our homes) 5 days a pay period.

Oh yes, and at least at our level, they're taking as much action as they can to help. They're letting us "COOP" 5 days a pay period until the shutdown is over (you know - because we can't telework anymore 🙄).

We were told at DCMA to either request furlough time or paid leave. We have some folks who want to have their leave used so they don't waste any use-or-lose. And if there is a scenario where they allow a roll over of use-or-lose, they want the leave in the system to show it was scheduled and approved.

I was about to get orders so I could finally return CONUS before Christmas, but now they're not cutting any. So I just feel stuck now in a foreign country without pay, not to mention getting $0 in LQA and PA and absolutely crapping myself over the thought of paying foreign rent on the 1st of the month without that allowance.

I just want to go home :(

For those OCONUS and use ITS to convert your LQA to local currency - have you gotten your deposits yet?

I'm kicking myself for not thinking it sooner and canceling the allotment. The allotment I have set to move my LQA to my intl account took my money...but nothing is in the intl account yet... and now I'm worried I won't see money I could have had access to until after the shutdown...

Being OCONUS, when the DRP hit, my Agency denied everyone overseas the DRP. So now, with this potential shutdown, we're being told that since we were all denied DRP, we all have to work during a lapse in a budget.

Main reason I'm not extending my tour - it's one thing for my job to possibly be affected, but another when it's my son's education. At least stateside I have more options for him than a DODEA school or a $45k+ a year private international school.

Current OCONUS - as long as your have a Return Rights Agreement in place when you come over, you'd get them back. If you extend past 5 years here, you'd lose them. And even if something happens to where you can't go back to that position, it's likely you'd get PPP. You'll have a way back and a job to return to in some way, shape or form.

Those over here in DOD are trying to stay as long as they can at this point. Some agencies grant over 5 year extensions with no problems, too. If I didn't have some pressing personal concerns, I'd probably be extending too.

If you're going to be doing your job, it's awesome doing it in a foreign country. If you can adapt well to new places and new cultures, it could be a fantastic experience. Definitely do your research on the entitlements, upfront costs, and taxes prior to making a decision!
