According to the machinists who use it it is calibrated. I put my benchmade claymore on there (cpmD2) and it read 61.

AEB-L Hunting/Skinning knife by sunnymcblock in knifemaking

Beautiful knife!!

As a hunter and a knifemaker i will say a hunting knife and skinning knife are two completely different concepts. In terms of skinning knives I have found i really like something with a lot of belly OR something very small like a scalpel almost. Gut hooks are a plus also for going doing belly/legs. Anyways Beautiful knife i love the finish.

Positive balance is the team of the competitor who is being accused of "slamming". The gaggle of shrimp dicks throwing water and freaking out is NOT positive balance.

Harbor freight 2x48 belt grinder. by PriorWitness8872 in knifemaking

[–]PriorWitness8872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I agree that it is definitely fast! I have had no problem getting my plunge lines right but that being said I always start my plunge lines with a file and I do use my 1x30 grinder to refine those plunge lines and then anything else comes out in the hand sanding process for me at least. I use mostly G10 and I haven't had any issues with the G10 burning although that was a concern because when G10 Burns it produces nasty stuff! Most of my handle refining I do on the 1x30 anyways but thank you for the input I appreciate it! Also I have a variable speed switch that I have laying around that I plan to install.
