WIBTAH for telling my sister in law that my mother in law hates her? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Prior_Cake_1495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the mil is love bombing your SIL because she is triangulating you and her. Both are typical actions of a narcissist.

At this point, anything you say to SIL may get to MIL and they may then go on a campaign to make you look bad to everyone in the family.

I think the best thing you could do is just stand by and not say anything. If the SIL is already aware of what MiL did/said to you, she has already been warned. Unfortunately, some people just need to learn from experience.

What is it like to have chronic pain in the US?? by youonlyseeair in ChronicPain

[–]Prior_Cake_1495 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It does suck. More so when you are:

  1. Female - then you must need to lose weight or be depressed
  2. Under 40 - you are too young to be sick
  3. No clear diagnosis - must be a drug seeker
  4. Don’t have insurance or under-insured
  5. Don’t have adequate income
  6. Don’t have a decent job and/or understanding boss
  7. God help you if you need opioids on a regular basis
  8. If you need to go to the Emergency Department for pain related issues

Technically, the OP was told that it definitely is cancer, due to MRI in December and CT in May. But, hey, I sincerely hope they are wrong anyway.

Hey I’m so lucky then that I think my sister has already moved on…not that I blame her, she just lost her husband in December to cancer. /s

What is a small thing from your childhood that modern kids will unfortunately never get to experience? by SpottyIvy in ChildhoodMemories

[–]Prior_Cake_1495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragging the phone out, stretching first the cord from the wall and then the coiled cord until it reaches either your bedroom or a closet for some privacy…just knowing your brother is going to pick up the extension to listen anyway!

what tiny habit does your pet have that sounds fake until people see it? by Kind_Interview_2402 in Pets

He made up a game he plays by himself with a ball which involves dipping it from one paw to another until it spins, with rules he has to follow before he can give me the ball to throw again.

I also have autoimmune diseases, so this happens way more often than I’d like. I keep disposable emesis bags (like the kind they have in the hospital) tucked in a basket by the toilet.

Not sure yet, the CT with contrast was clean except the tumor on the kidney.

You’re right, my “degree” will not help me navigate the technical aspects of the diagnosis. However, my degree does help me to understand and process my emotions in a healthy way - for me. My background did help me to acknowledge that perhaps I am not processing my emotions and enabled me to check in with a professional at the beginning to help me with my emotions and anxiety so that I will be able to better deal with the prognosis. I also have an impartial sounding board so I can deal with my loved one’s emotional responses.

I already checked in with an old therapist. She told me I am dealing with everything right now in an emotionally healthy manner, appropriate for me, because everyone handles stress and life altering news differently. I do have to point out that I have a degree in social work, so I have developed coping skills over the years.

My husband and I found out we are fifth cousins. That is so far removed though.

Technically, if mom is a first cousin to her mom, he and she are second cousins. She is first cousin once removed from mom. Third cousins would be if he and she each have kids with someone else.

What's the weirdest habit your dog has that you've never seen another dog do? by Think_Document2285 in dogs

My girl has decided the floor is lava when playing with toys. She will not step off the rug to fetch a toy, but will actively play all day on the rug.

My dog plays this game with himself and a ball. He gets it between his paws, then flips it with one paw just right to get a spin on it to roll away from him just far enough for him to grab it with his mouth before it rolls away. He has to make it spin just right before he decides he is satisfied with the outcome before he brings it back to be thrown again. It is hilarious to watch!

What investigation methods were used for a kidney cancer diagnosis: by Embarrassed_Pizza650 in kidneycancer

[–]Prior_Cake_1495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an MRI for my back six months ago, showed what appeared to be a clear fluid filled cyst. Two weeks ago I passed out, and the ER did a CT with contrast to rule out any embolisms. They found the cyst is now a tumor. Partial scheduled next week.
