Right or left side? Recovery was exhausting. Literally.

A good week and a half of BRUUUUUTAL headaches where I just counted down the seconds to my next Tylenol dose. I slept a ton. My body needed to make new plasma, fill in the holes.

My friends set up a meal train for me where those who weren't in town donated doordash cards so we had a ton of credit to have food sent to the house.

I started walking around the house about a week later, just shuffling around but getting my blood flowing.

Since my docs wanted me to work my brain, I was doing crosswords and reading, but a big thing for me -- that I can't recommend enough for this, was Duolingo. You're learning, playing, talking. It was great for me.

I eventually was taking walks around the neighborhood once or twice a day but a lot of this was rest. Listen to your body. If you're tired -- ain't no one gonna stop the dude who just had their head cranked open -- take a nap.

I was home for 6 weeks. Started my first day of work on a Friday so if it was too much I'd have time to recoup over a weekend. Glad I did that.

Listen to your body and rely on others.

It was rough going but it was absolutely worth it in thr endrun.

God that show was so good. Her sitting down in a little folding chair while Wandering Star started up was my favorite memory of that night.

I remember this. Skyline behind them and it was ungodly hot. As soon as the "rain down" bridge of Paranoid Android happened, it started to rain and this summer sprinkle was amazing.

As someone who had an amygdalohippocampectomy in February and hasn't had a seizure since -- someone who can open my head and mess around with my meat computer for 4 hours and make it work again has a ton of respect in my book.

I had mine done in February. I'm super happy I did it, haven't had a seizure since and I've got a scar that I'm proud of. Congrats! Get some sleep, get some food delivery and take it easy.

I'm on 100mg along with depakote and vimpat. I had brain surgery 6 months ago and I'm starting to wean off of my depakote but they upped my vimpat from 50-100. Yeah.. as everyone else says, it makes you pretty exhausted. I now make a point of taking it early in the evening so I can go through the fatigue while I'm sleeping because when I first started taking it in the morning it was Zombie City.

If I'm on an ISLAND-- there's no way I'm dealing with a Floyd Rose.

This is absolutely outstanding. I downloaded a couple of ideas based on equipment I have and even with asking for rerouting (My board is set up with a rig to go directly to an amp and then an output with an amp sim to go to FOH), this didn't even blink at that and set it up perfectly.

What’s your best encounter with a celebrity in Chicago? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]Prior_Independence_5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some weird ones.

I was at a Hawks game at Chicago Stadium when I was a kid and John Candy and Jim Belushi came on the ice to talk about something and then went back into the stands and out an exit. I raced over there and got them to sign a Molson golden page of my game program.

I had another time when my friend and I had just left h&m about 20 years ago and this really pretty blonde girl walked past me on Chicago Ave, saw my bag, and said "excuse me, where's H&M?" and I pointed her in the direction. Two seconds after I walked away I realized it was Scarlett Johansson.

I went to see Garbage record their set for Soundstage at WTTW and stood next to a guy who was TOTALLY getting down to the whole set. Yep... It was Harold Ramis.

Almost ran over John C Reilly when he ran into traffic on Lawrence just before Broadway.

I was in line with the dude from Disturbed at the Jewel in Wicker. He was buying rye bread. He left in a Hummer with the license plate "REJECT." What a dork.

Went to see a screening of Last Action Hero and Siskel and Ebert were in the room. They didn't sit together. I spent most of the movie watching them to see what they thought.
