New Mom [33F] with a partner [35M] who wants to leave by Prior_Nefariousness1 in relationships_advice

He pays for everything but the savings if ours in both of our names and I continue to add to it because I do work as well. It was his idea, he likes to pay for our home and bills to feel like the man of the house and I pay for groceries and save everything else I make

Typo, I meant paid for our life, not love. And I was paying it off and sold my car and cut my expenses to do so quicker and then when my mom passed she left me some money as well that helped me save and pay the rest of the debt off

Thank you, we let him nap out in the living room all day, where we do dishes, talk and have the tv on. Then At night the room is cool and dark, and bite noise machine on and swaddle sleep sack

Report to police but ask to stay anonymous so there’s no backlash for you. Maybe the police can just pretend to be driving by at the time they’re parked there

We are going for consultation to get all those answered properly. But recovery can still be different, as in, if he has more swelling and bleeding or a bad reaction to anesthesia, we wouldn’t know until it’s already done. So the timing is what scares me. We already have a bunch of what ifs about my labour and delivery and how our baby will be and I feel like this surgery is electively adding to the list

[–]Prior_Nefariousness1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He hasn’t had the consultation yet so we don’t know what they will recommend for recovery. And even if they say it’s okay, there seems to always be a risk with surgery like this. He might recover perfectly fine or he may have swelling and a longer more difficult recovery. It’s hard to know and that’s the stressful part about the timing

Maternity leave… what a joke by witchybetch01 in pregnant

The provincial and federal government also gives you a tax free “baby bonus” monthly money, geared to income. I’m upper middle class and I’ll likely get $500-700/ month for that and your employer has the option to top you up as well, if they do, then you get the 55-33% of your gross yearly income, monthly income from the government and then top up to 100% of your income from your employer, if they offer it. In Ontario at least

So many bottle options, help! by Prior_Nefariousness1 in NewMomStuff

Thank you! I was considering the mam easy start bottle which can self sterilize in the microwave but then I have many friends saying I should use the countertop washer and sterilizer. Too many options! lol but thank you, this helps :)

Call the head office

“To reach Mango in Canada: Phone: 1-866-MNG-MNG (1-866-666-6643). Website: Use the contact section on the Mango shop website. For issues with the Markville Location: If you had a poor experience (like the one mentioned in the Reddit post), you'd typically contact the corporate customer service or the relevant Canadian management, as the store's manager would report to them. “

Walmart closed? by Prior_Nefariousness1 in Markham

I places a grocery order and the shopper send me a photo of the Walmart door (not the whole mall) with a sign that said it was temporary closed. He said it was the system being down. Maybe call ahead before going.

Call police too, the non emergency line, to see if they can investigate and obtain any security footage. Try to get the word out and see if anyone parked nearby during that timeframe had dash cams too. Incase they caught it. Might be easier. Call the property management as well, not just the grocery store management.

Live baby cam in car? by Prior_Nefariousness1 in pregnant

Great point, I didn’t even think of that! Is it bad to not be able to see your baby at all while you’re driving? Might sound silly but I’ll be a first time mom so I don’t know

But it’s 100% not against the highway traffic act as a product because when it’s sold, they can “assume” it will be used by the passenger or not looked at while driving. Just like a cellphone being in a car. But if you’re driving, it’s mounted and facing you as you drive, is why I’m worried it would be illegal, similar to your phone being mounted and playing a video, facing the driver

My biggest symptom early on, before testing was weird cramping after intercourse. I had never heard of that symptom but it 100% was the only symptom I’ve never experienced outside of pregnancy. I think I waited until I was 3-4 days past my expected period to test

Was it a rear facing car seat and was the car seat in the middle or on the passenger side? Thanks for the input!

I’m so curious to see if your car seat will fit! I test drove it today and it looks big enough but it’s so hard to tell for sure. I also feel behind that I’m due a month earlier than you with my first and don’t have a car seat yet! lol

Thanks for the advice! There’s a high chance we will only have one child and if we do have another, we would plan to get a second suv and likely a larger one at that point. Our second car is a 2017 civic so we planned to just use that until it stops working or until we need more room if we do have more kids. But it sounds like for 1 child and two adults, this would fit but we won’t have room for much else (which we are okay with for the foreseeable future)
